This is probably the best photo I've ever taken, it's like taking a photo of an acid trip.

Just spotted this while doing a search for something else. That's an-mazing!

Wow! Incredible pics Mavis. The Juliette Lewis one is my favourite, but the less said about that the better.

So, you are an actual photographer at these gigs? As in, that is your job?

It would be my job if there was some decent money in it, I shoot gigs for magazines and websites.
I am trying to make photography a full time job but it's pretty tough unless you wanna do school portraits and such like.

Cool. Good going. Any I would have heard of (or can look up easily to hide my ignorance!)

ANyway, here is a photo I took as my wife and I and her family got to the top of a hill outside Neilston called The Pad to scatter the ashes of her paternal grandparents, who both died last year. It was such a beautiful moment.

I have made a pretty amateurish attempt to bring the colour out a little as the shot was a bit washed out and the rainbow was hardly visible (I was in a hurry to capture the rainbow before itisappeared). Unfortunately my skills don't stretch to stopping the sky going such a weird blue colour... the houses look great though!

For comparison, here is the unaltered version:

Nice, did you find the ending? It's blatently just behind that hill.

I missed an oppurtunity for a good photo today, in Portsmouth the sun was setting over the port and reflecting across the water. My Dad got a few though later on with his D80 so all is not lost.

 Sadly no. It started raining after we scattered the ashes so we had to make a sharp exit to the cars ( a 20 minute walk away).

I hate that. We have had some wild weather recently, interspersed with bright sunshine, so some of the skyscapes have been incredible, but I keep forgetting I haven't charged my camera battery! It's charging as I type. I was attempting to take night shots of the stars but I had hardly switched it on when it died on me.

IGM - I am guessing that you used the HUE/SATURATION adjustment layer in photoshop to bring out the say ? I would suggest using a layer mask, so that you only affect the area that you want to change. Photoshop also offers a range of filters - could be useful.

I use GIMP as I don't have photshop. But yeah, I just used the curves tool to adjust the whole picture. I've not got the hang of layers on it yet - except for black and white/colour cutouts. Thanks for the advice, will have a gander next time I'm on the home laptop. I probably need to sit down and actually read something about all this at some point!

That's pretty cool Psychopriest. There's a bit of a surreal aura going on. Did you enhance it?
