Quite a few of us have bought the Burnout Paradise City / Trivial Pursuit / Connect 4 pack from Soft UK and if like me, you're loving Burnout's balls-out, in-your-face approach to racing, then why not get a GRcade party going? There are a few online achievements we could help each other out with too but of course, having fun is where it's at!

So, who's up for some carnage Burnout-style?

I can do most nights after 10pm or so, so if you're interested, just say which day & time best suits and we can see who we can get & when. I'll try & keep this page updated with a 'who can race & when' if there's enough interest

just a quick question - loaded up Burnout Paradise at lunch for a quick 10 mins and was greeted with a "you must download latest patch to play online" type message - had a look at it and it's v1.8 at around 950Mb IIRC.

My question is, if I download this, can I delete v1.7 from my HDD? v1.7 was needed to enable me to play online when I got the game 2 weeks ago! or do I need to have both v1.7 & v1.8? I don't want to delete it to find I need to re-download it as it'll take ages and my ISP limit could be breached this month if I do!

You can indeed delete 1.7 patch.

Sorry I couldn't accept your invite last night but it took over an hour to download v1.8 and when it had, you'd logged off. Anyways, managed to get some online action with Crafty Shafto and some randoms and it started to click more with me.

Just need to understand how to generate a Challenge next. All I did last night was whatever the ticker on the bottom of the screen said to do, but I don't know how you do that?

Crafty - I think we're even after last night's takedowns but just in case we're not - I'm after you!!!

I still don't know how to start a Cops and Robbers game

It isn't the clearest thing to understand!

can anyone tell me how to start an Online Challenge in this please?

Every time I go into 'Create Match' I only get a Race option? I seem to be totally reliant upon fluking into someone else's session where Challenges are underway. Managed 25 Challenges now, only another 465 to go

I think its pretty straight forward, you have to be hosting a freeburn then create a challenge. They will be representative of how many palyers are currently in your game. I use it quite often as me and a pal are trying to get all the 2 player challenges.

so... I have to have someone in my party first by the sounds of things!? That could be it as I'm always trying to get it set up before I launch the game for randoms to join!

Once I have 1 or more randoms in, I presume I go 'right dpad>Freeburn Online> something that says 'Challenge'? - I'll have a look when next go online & see if that works.

That sounds right - it is not so much a lobby system as the races you just launch everyone currently in your freeburn on a challenge. I will be around loads this weekend for gaming so I will see if you are on to tackle some challenges.
