A new Thief game would be pretty awesome. As long as they don't go too combat heavy and actually keep in stealing stuff, the game should be good.

Roll on 11th May!

If there is anything as scary as Shalebridge Cradle in it, I'm not playing it

Eidos-Montréal is excited to unveil its previously secret second title in development at the studio, Thief™ 4, the next instalment in the legendary series.

The original Thief game, Thief: The Dark Project redefined first person gaming and established an entirely new genre of stealth based game play. The critically and commercially acclaimed Thief series has won numerous awards and accolades including GameSpy Hall of Fame, GameSpot Greatest Games of All Time and The Academy of Interactive Arts And Sciences Outstanding Achievement in Character and Story Development.

Eidos-Montréal, which is also currently producing the much anticipated Deus Ex™ 3, has recruited the very best core team for the development of Thief 4. The team is comprised of industry veterans who have worked on an incredible collection of AAA titles and who each bring personal expertise in their respective fields.

“We’re in the early development stages for Thief 4, but this is an incredibly ambitious and exciting project for Eidos,” said Stéphane D’Astous, General Manager at Eidos-Montréal. “While it’s too early for us to offer any specific game details, right now we are focused on recruiting the very best talent to join the core team at the studio and help us make what we believe will be one of the most exciting games on the market.”

Development is under way and the team is looking to recruit the very best talent as production ramps up. If you are a world-class developer looking to join the talented Thief 4 team, visit http://www.eidosmontreal.com to submit your résumé or http://www.thief4.com to join the community discussion.

On a scale of 1-56, how wrong is it that I have both Thief 2 and 3 but have never even bother to install them?

I bet I'd love them as well, as the gameplay and ideas tick all my boxes.

That's very wrong. Especially because Thief 2 is going to look so dated that you won't even want to give it a chance, neither will your computer if it's not very good with compatibility.

You should install Thief 3 though, it's not that bad looking and plays great.

Baloney. It looks just fine.

's all about the gameplay anyway, and Thief 2's got it. Got it where it counts. So install it and play it, then follow up with nr. 3.

I should really stick in my copy of Thief 3 on Xbox, I loved number 2.

It works on 360 right? :shifty:

I bought Thief 1 and 2 on one disk. I was hugely impressed with the graphics for their time, but they both froze when I moved. Vista issues. Loved Deadly Shadows, despite not getting past The Cradle level.

I shall now do the naked dance of celebration, this is good news indeed. I hope they don't future it all up like some people are saying.

Who'd have thought that three of my most wanted games would come from western studios inside Square-Enix  Thief 4, Deus Ex 3 and Hitman 5 can't come soon enough

Time for me to man up and finish Deadly Shadows methinks. Not even at Shalebridge Cradle yet :fp:

This is good news - the previous games were really fun and the additional power of modern consoles can only benefit them.

Can't wait for this.

Also :fp: for using a "4" in the title.

No Thief 4 Appearance At E3, Eidos Montreal Fully Dedicated To Deus Ex

Eidos Montreal has told Connected Consoles that the studio is fully dedicated to upcoming title Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and that Thief 4 will not be making an appearance at the E3 conference.

We spoke to the studio - who are set to reveal a new trailer for Human Revolution very soon - who told us: "Our studio is completely dedicated to Deus Ex at the moment". We then had to ask what exactly will be shown at E3 in just a couple of weeks time.

CC: Thief 4 will not be making an appearance at E3 in under two weeks time, though Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be?
Eidos Montreal: That’s correct!

We don't expect to see anything else, as one studio can only take on so many projects at a time, and if Eidos want to take both franchises up a notch, they need to take their time.
