Link-me-do.

Quote:
THQ hinted at the sequel to Vigil Game’s breakout hit almost immediately after the success of the first title, but we knew little about Darksiders II until now.

Fans of the first Darksiders are already familiar with Vigil’s fiction – the eternal war that rages between the forces of Heaven and Hell. With Darksiders II, Vigil looks to deliver a richer experience as players explore more dungeons, talk with a variety of NPCs, and experiment with a detailed loot system. The horseman War has been sidelined, so it’s up to his brother, Death, to travel through the world of the Abyss and attempt to restore humanity after its destruction during the Apocalypse.

Subscribers should be receiving their issues after the first day of E3. After you finish reading our cover story, keep checking back with our Darksiders II hub throughout the month, since we'll have plenty of updates that delve deeper into the experience Vigil is crafting for Darksiders II.

In addition to our 10-page cover story on Darksiders II, the July issue of Game Informer includes an in-depth first look at Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII-2, our hands-on impressions of Sony’s NGP hardware and its early games, and an extensive preview section featuring games like BioShock Infinite, Mass Effect 3, and Batman: Arkham City.

Until you get a copy for yourself, drool over these images of our cover, drawn by comic book luminary Joe Madureira. And be sure to check back tomorrow around 11am CST when we debut the exclusive first trailer for Darksiders II.

strawberry float yes. I loved the first game, despite the occasional frustrating backtracking session and iffy end boss. The voice acting was spot on and I really want to see the same quality of the first game's acting upheld in the second.

The one thing I don't like is that they renamed two of the horsemen Strife and Fury. Famine and Pestilence have a much better ring to them.

War

Goodnight sweet Prince.

The way the first ended I thought we'd at least have a choice who to play or even a co-op component for the sequel.

I'm certain he'll be back later, or present here in at least one or two cut scenes.

Excellent news. Darksiders was a gem. Shame there is no War, the voice actor had such gravitas.

"No, not alone"

Perhaps he'll be back as another character.

I'm wondering if this game will take place alongside the events of the first. That's what had been previously hinted at but from the above description, maybe this won't be the case.

Good news to see that this is still going ahead, I loved the first one.

Shame that War's not the main player anymore but there's plenty of scope for fun and games with Death's character. If I'm being picky, I'm not too sure about his face, it should look better when animated though.

Looking forward to it.

I don't care if it was cheesy or clichéd or anything like that. That ending was strawberry floating awesome. It was like Halo 2's ending only done right.

Oh hell yes.

Darksiders was a fantastic game that seemed to slip beneath far too many radars. I'm ashamed to say it almost passed me by if it weren't for a friend letting me play their copy. The following day I went out and bought my own. :D

I bought the original for £20 and then had it sitting on my shelf for about a year before I played it. :fp:

I won't make the same mistake again. :D

I'd like to see Mark Hamill come back as another character, maybe even as another Watcher. He was awesome in that role.

I get the feeling that Samael will play a key, likely villainous role in any future Darksiders title that takes place after the events of the first game, provided of course that the rumours about game number two's events taking place roughly alongside those of the first game are true.

He really was.

His involvement in the story seems to suggest he'll be back.

It would be nice (plotwise) for humanity to get to make a comeback too. Let's face it, we went out like pussies at the beginning of the first one :fp:

Literally grabbed the first one for a few quid the other day, looking forward to giving it a go.

Same here. I got totally hooked on it once I finally started. It's great to hear they haven't given up on it.

I only started playing the game recently (and it is ace), but the voice actor also appeared in Professor Layton 3 as a scientist.

Suffice to say, using essentially an identical voice for both characters means that I do now find it a bit hard to take War seriously, which is a bit of a shame. :(
