Homefront.

Short but sweet. Ridiculously short in fact, can't remember a shorter single player campaign ( I do not think any single player campaign should be finishable in one not-outrageously-long sitting), but it had its fair share of ace moments and enough personality to carry it through. Reminded me a lot of Bad Company in that respect.

I genuinely hated that game.

Really? Other than the genuinely terrible scripting (Go through that door over ther-WAIT YOUR TURN), I thought it was loveable in the best sense of the word; genuinely flawed but made with love.

I truly didn't know that a FPS could get more linear than the recent COD games, but this game managed it. It's up there with the SP campaign of Battlefield 3 in that respect. It could have been a light gun game. The premise of the game was good and I'm a bit of a fan of Red Dawn (despite John Milius being a bit of a nut), but this was a lost opportunity. No likeable characters, an incredibly irritating twat (up there with Rico from Killzone 2 for being hateful) continually shouting at you to MOVE! MOVE! MOVE! Thereby killing all atmosphere and immersion. Set pieces were more or less already been seen in other games of the genre. The only upside to the whole retched affair was the Goliath and a somewhat decent multiplayer.

But that's just me.
:)

half life 2.

seems shorter than the first.

decent enough romp, some really pain in the ass choke points, but nothing too hard, remembered a fair amount of it from the last plathrough about 5 years ago.

still not a fan of the driving stages, the boat stage is ok, but the buggy can strawberry float right off, really boring i found.

the Bots/IA are a strawberry floating pain too, always getting in the way, but they are polite and excuse themselves atleast.

DOG

Ravenholm

Ant Lions

that gravity gun at the end

going to hit the episodes and lost coast, all three of which i have never played, looking forward to it.

I've finished 2 games in the past couple of days Sly 3: Honour Among Thieves and Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Despite some infuriatingly difficult bits I really enjoyed both games and I'll give Sly 3 7/10 and Jak and Daxter 8/10.

I love it  Easily one of best titles in 2011 - I really enjoyed stealth bits, and talking people to do stuff I want them to do is great as well. So is punching weak walls down and exploring the cities.

Only major downside is bosses though, but they're not too hard - just annoying. Thankfully they only take up about 5-10% of game, rest of game is so fun.

Just finished Beat Sneak Bandit, 9/10, brilliant, original, humorous, and sufficiently challenging.

Jurassic Park: The Game

Finally got around to finishing chapters 3 and 4 of this. More of an interactive movie than an actual game, proof if anything that the Telltale engine is creaking at the seams. And that they really shouldn't be snapping up licences left right and centre and hoping something works.

The story is basically passable, if pretty uninteresting, the whole game just screams low budget shite really. A shame, after the excellent Back To The Future I really expected more.

5/10

Very much in the same vein as Drake's Fortune. Great game that is nearly completelt ruined by two of the worst boss fights in history at the end.

Not as good as the GODLY HotDII but still very enjoyable, if incredibly short ever for this series. Passed it in like 25 minutes.

Last boss is a total banana split, though.

When are II and 4 being released on PSN?

The Darkness II - 8/10
I really enjoyed this (the end, post credits was a bit shite though). In fact I enjoyed it far more than the original.
*sigh* I guess I'll try to finish Syndicate next...but it's so dull!

Oh no. Is it somehow worse than the boss in the second game?

Can't believe how bad the Uncharted series is at bosses when the first game ended so well.

Went back to this today and finished it off.

Great game. Loads of character, was worried that it would get repetitive half way through, but turns out it mixes it up pretty well throughout. Couple of the later stages get a bit tricky, but it's never unfair, and always your own fault.

Only gripe was that the later levels pretty much require you to permanently hold down the run button. When a game forces you to do that I count it as a design flaw.

Apart from that a good solid 8/10
