The Darkness II (360) - 8/10

May not be great as original, but still damn great. Can recommend it to anyone who loves first game.

Laughable shite. One of the worst games I've ever played.

Runaway: Road To Adventure - 4/10

This game gets 4 for the art style, which is fantastic. It's chocked full of poor writing and terrible game design. It's the story of one guy's transformation from a polite shy geek who is about to do a doctorate at a prestigious university to layabout millionaire douchebag. The 'puzzles' are all random, you very rarely have to use logic, just click gooseberry fool and see what happens. Sometimes coming back to click gooseberry fool again. I wanted to finish it, and I did. strawberry float me, this game is badly designed. Normally I love Point and Clicks.

much better than blue shift i think. deeper story, more action, more puzzles and a serious challenge i found. Fair few times running about with piss all health, little ammo and black ops going nuts all round the place.

really enjoyed it.

makes me wonder why they never did a combine alternative to HL2, could of been interesting.

also i wonder if they'll ever do another side game where sheperd is brought out of detainment by G-man in the future.

a really good DLC.

Darkness 2 - A solid 8/10 game if I ever did play one. Co-op seems like it could be good as well.

Mass Effect 2 - Finished my insanity run and oh my god that last boss was hellish....feel so glad to get it out the way though. Only Mordin died which kind of sucks. Doubt I have enough time to do a quick run to fix things but strawberry float it.

Limbo - 5

Initially, the varied deaths were amusing, but when you realise that most are unavoidable trial and error type deaths and that their main purpose is to extend a fairly short game, they become tiresome. The graphics which are interesting initially, also lack detail and the dark colouring of the game makes it difficult in some places to pick out objects from the scenery. The final point that spoils the game is the 360 - even though the game was installed on the hard drive it insists on playing from the disk meaning the ambient sound of the game is ruined by the 360's roar. Had I bought this as a full price download I'd have scored it less, but as it was on a disk with 3 other games for just over £6 it is OK for a couple of quid, but certainly not a game to rave about.

Reasonable kids game. Easy achievements. That's a good combo in my book. :)

Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

Fairly enjoyable. The story is just a wee bit step up from the original and it's DLCs and I have to say that Mr Scratch is an awesome baddie. The combat is somehow still the same despite the developers' push for it being different, but the new weapons add a bit more favour to the game.

The exploration still need to be better, as there's pretty strawberry float all to find apart from the manuscripts and hidden ammo suitcases. I can see that this will be as dull as the original game is unless they add more to it for the sequel, perhaps side missions?

I shall award this a 7 out of 10.

Bloody hard in some parts, but a return to the original Rayman games, before those shitty Rabbids came.

Still need to get the skull teeth in order to fight the "final" boss.

If you think it's been bloody hard in parts so far...just you wait

Half life.

really good wee action adventure, sooo many memmories.

forgot how much of a chore the last acts were, doesn't mess around and kicks the strawberry float outta ya pretty good.

the final boss, took me a fair few goes to actually remember wtf was going on.

great ending too, vague and creepy, the gmans voice :|

brought a great hatred i had for head crabs back to the foreground, little strawberry floaters, they never kill ya, just annoy the hell outta ya, and then the Zen tiny white versions are even worse.

Next half life 2, getting myself ready for shitty boat and buggy sections and rediculious choke points all over again!!!

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - 5/10

Tiresome, same old mechanics, and a nigh-on inpenetrable story. I'm sure Assassin's Creed 2 was much better than this.

A 'not bad at all' point and click with a fantastic film noire feel and great writing. It's just a shame that it's so short. I shouldn't complain too much, I got 3 of the games in a pack in a Steam sale. Going through the 3rd game now :D

Got my first platinum trophy on Tomb Raider: Legend last night. It really is a nice little game, short but sweet, enjoyable collecting all the secrets. I've encountered some annoying bugs though - one time I died doing the quick time event in the Nepal level, I go back to the previous checkpoint, only the game has removed the weapon you use to open the door :fp:

And towards the end of the England level, the elevator you use to ascend after the staircase that gets destroyed mysteriously went missing :fp:

(something similar happened while I was playing Tomb Raider: Underworld. Apparently there's a bug where if you die earlier in the level, a bridge vanishes making it impossible to complete the level, not gone back to it since then)

Also, I managed to kill four guys on bikes in Peru with one exploding barrel. There's a trophy for killing two with one and I swear the first couple of times I did this, it just wasn't registering. Not sure if something else just happened, or maybe one of the riders just hit one infront (noticed they die if they collide quickly  )

The Darkness II.

I really enjoyed this. It isn't quite up to the standard of the original, but the sheer amount of style that literally pours off the screen is more than enough to make up for the short and linear campaign. The ending is definitely a kick in the balls though.

8/10

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

I'm somewhat torn over this one, I really didn't feel as connected to the storyline as with Snake Eater. Mostly as it seems to be incredibly paper thin, well thin for Kojima anyway. But the compact nature of the game really gets addictive, you stick the disc in to play a couple of missions, and before you know it it's 6am. :fp:

8/10

Batman: Arkham City.

Absolutely fantastic.

GOTY 2011? Well I've played Skyrim and so far I'd say yes. Can't see anything touching this.

I really like that they're not scared to whatever the hell they like with the Franchise, killing off characters as and how they please. The fact that they went through with actually killing of the Joker is cool.

Enormous game though. Not sure if I can be bothered to go back and do the Riddler Challenges as the sheer amount of them makes them feel like a bit of a chore.

10/10. A sequel which genuinely lived up to it's phenomenal predecessor.
