How it will work:

A six tournament competition starting on Tuesday 19th March like this

Tournament 1: Play on Tuesday 19th March and Wednesday 20th March
Tournament 2: Play on Fri 22nd, Sat 23rd and Sun 24th
Tournament 3: GRCade Invitational Open Major - Play on Tues 26th and Weds 27th
Tournament 4: Play on Fri 29th, Sat 30th and Sun 31st
Tournament 5: Play on Tues 2nd April, Weds 3rd
Tournament 6: GRCade Masters Major - Play on Fri 5th, Sat 6th and Sun 7th

Points will be allocated as 10pts for the winner, 9 for 2nd etc with Majors being double points (20 for the winner).

To level the playing field, I'll be giving each player their own handicap. This will the number of extra shots they get (i.e. removed from their final total) for each round. The initial handicap will be calculated by taking their best 2 scores in the recent tournament and taking the average (rounded down to the nearest shot) compared to the lowest score on the round (or Hugo's score). I haven't calculated exactly what this would be but taking Melly's scores, he'd probably get a 1 shot handicap per round. If you didn't play a round then that one won't be counted in the calculation. All handicaps will be reviewed before each Major.

This is the number of shots that will be taken off your score per round.



Couple of rule amendments because of the handicap system.

1) In the event of a tie, the EG points will determine the order. This should favour the player with the lower handicap because they would probably have scored better.
2) Handicaps are only deducted on rounds that have been played, you don't get to take your handicap off your score if you didn't play.
3) Handicaps are 1.5x on 18 hole rounds (rounded down)

What about a change of format though. Instead of being a straight match play, maybe have a tour based on scores from a particular daily tournament? For example, pick two/three or four days for each round of the tour. Players have to enter the 18 hole daily tournament and the winner of that particular round is the one with the lowest scores over the duration. Say points allocated on a 10 for first, 6 for second etc. I'd be willing to help out with the organisation. Not sure how much sense that makes.

I'll try and be a bit clearer.

The competition is split into a number of events (say 5). Each of those events is made of several rounds (2/3 or 4). Those rounds would be the 18 hole ones on the daily tournament.

Say the first event would run next week. Its going to be based on 3 rounds. Those would be the Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 18 hole daily tournaments. At the end of that, the totals from the 3 rounds are added up to give a leaderboard for that event. Points are allocated to the top 6 on a 10 points for top, 6 for 2nd etc basis.

At the end of the competition, you'd have a rankings table based on the points gained in each round.

For this to work, everyone would need to be on my friends list so I can see all the daily tournament results. Anyone not completing a round would get an automatic +4 score for that day.

Yep, I'm up for this.

I've been playing it a bit but I've yet to figure out a lot of the intricacies of shot direction, spin etc. My approach is normally 'hit it as hard as you can in that general direction'. It's not really working.

I'm hoping to pick this up sometime in the next week so if i do i'll join in!
