Out of their 3 online stores Gameplay was the easiest to navigate. I always used to get my hardware releases from them.

Game need to make sure they have SSX Ltd Ed for me to collect on the 2nd March, and then I'll be avoiding all reservations from now on.
Actually haven't used them in ages, but £35 credit for Darkness 2 was just silly. Coupled with my fiver deposit it's going to be a walk in and walk out job without (hopefully) adding any cash, so they'd best not mess up stock assurances with EA.

I notice GAME have changed the wording on their pre-order guarantee. It used to say "Pre-order Promise - Get it first - Guaranteed!", but now says "Pre-order Promise - Get free UK delivery on Everything".

If they wanted to get rid of one of them, surely Gamestation.co.uk was the obvious choice. Gameplay has far more of a brand presence online.

I'd guess they got rid of whichever one was performing most poorly. If Gameplay.co.uk was bringing in the most money then I doubt even GAME upper management would be stupid enough to close them down over one of the others.

In terms of which retail store to close branches of though, Gamestation are almost certain to be the obvious choice in towns where they have both a GAME and a Gamestation. In places I've been to one with each, the Gamestation has always been the smaller and emptier one. Closing some of the branches is also an ideal chance for clearance sales to bring in much needed quick cash.
Wonder if they'll do anything like that for Gameplay.co.uk. Just have a one day blowout sale to shift stock.

Thanks a lot for ruining my favourite online website of old, GAME.

I used to order all the time from Gameplay before they were bought by GAME. They used to be a great little site and now they've been turned into nothing.

Poor Gameplay I remember getting Vagrant Story from them back in the summer of 2000. It came is a cute little cardboard box, not much bigger than the game

Gameplay cancelled me Xbox 360 ore-order.

Haven't used them since.

Why close gameplay instead of just running two websites for one warehouse?


Unless they already run it as one warehouse (which would make more sense), which makes it even more bewildering.

The extra hosting, advertising, staff, rent of warehouse space and delivery services will all cost. When they have three seperate websites all running at once it's pointless to have those extra costs involved.

Eurogamer reporting that Gameplay are sending out £5 GameStation.co.uk vouchers to all their customers, that's a smart move in pushing Gameplay's customer base over to another Game group website.
