The long-running Tiger Woods golf series returns in March with a series-first Ladies PGA career mode.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 arrives for PS3 and Xbox 360 on 28th March in the UK. No other formats have been announced.
Alongside the ladies-only mode comes another new addition, the Legends of the Majors. Here you compete with golfing greats such as Steve Ballesteros, Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones and Jack Nicklaus. They all wear "period-specific attire", so in Hogan and Jones' case expect some very old-fashioned togs.
Historical events from all four majors will be included, along with a slew of new courses, fresh characters and - for the first time - night-time golf with illuminated balls. Incredible.
Huge Player Roster - A robust roster of more than 35 playable golfers, representing both the PGA TOUR and LPGA, are featured in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14. Compete against legends of the game and present-day stars including Bubba Watson, Keegan Bradley, Rickie Fowler, Lexi Thompson and Paula Creamer. Female created golfers can now compete on the LPGA and attempt to become a major champion by winning the Kraft Nabisco Championship. There are five playable LPGA golfers including 2012 Rolex Player of the Year Stacy Lewis.
Golf Anytime in Any Condition - For the first time in franchise history, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 features night golf. Tee it up after the sun goes down and watch your drives streak through the night skies with an illuminated ball. In addition, new time-of-day settings allow fans to play golf in any condition at any time of day in conjunction with a live weather feed.

Im semi interested, I do like a good golf game, it will all depend on if Im stuck into anything else around the time this comes out. The addition of the ladies tour is a cool addition, the nighttime golf, however, sounds like a marketing gimmick.
I think this is one of those franchises that desperately needs the next generation to come along and give it a much needed boot up the arse, even if it's just a complete graphical overhaul.
I'm quite surprised in this connected age, more games don't use real-time weather and time of day settings for their global maps/tracks/levels. Metropolis Street Racer on DC emulated the day/night cycle for the city you were racing in at that time.
Would've been cool if they had a story mode for the legends. Start off with playing through the major parts of Bobby Jones' career and progress through the years to Tiger's, hell go back further and kick off with Old Tom Morris for that really old timey feel.
Probably needs a few more legends to work though.

Because it's worthless if you typically only get to play games in the evenings after work.

I think his point is more that they dont look at the weather and time of day where the course is and use those conditions. So it could be a rainy evening where you are but if the course in the game is supposed to be in California it would be bright and sunny. Obviously this wouldnt work if you only play at 2am (even though they do now have a night mode it seems) but they could use the most recent weather conditions before sunset or something. It would definitely be a nice touch to add that in.

Yea, that's a bit more what I was getting at. I quite enjoyed racing in MSR when Tokyo was just waking up and the game was showing this on the Tokyo race maps. But as an option, it'd be nice to try a bit more often. You could theoretically play the masters at the same time as it's happening and under the exact same course conditions as the pros are experiencing. Just stuff like that to offer a bit of surprise and variety really.

They've been doing the real-time actual weather thing for a while now. What I was saying was that it's a bit pointless having something reflect the current time at the course if you only game in the same time slot every day. They'd have all these different dynamic time of day settings, yet you'd only see the same thing every time you play.
I can't remember what game it was I played that did the time-of-day reflection, but I ended up only ever seeing the nighttime versions of the environments.

Didn't Burnout Paradise use your local time zone? It always seemed to be dusk/dark for me when I played it. I could have dreamt this.
