Ive just been watching videos on waypoint for the last two hours.

I strawberry floating love halo, its getting close to my favourite ever videogame world ever.

Seeing all the videos, timelines, characters, overviews, and how a series has evolved and is still as fresh after 10 years is amazing

It's about time! I'm thinking we'll get a new trailer and members of the press may be able to get hands on with the game or at the very least, treated to a demonstration of some sorts.

I'd be lying if I said i didn't have huge expectations for this. Microsoft have put a lot of effort into building a pretty strong team to take over the reigns which is good to hear, but i think there is a huge amount of potential in terms of gameplay. Chief and Cortana potentially 'alone' on a foreign planet and quite possibly for the first time without the aid of Marines, Elites, etc. It'll be interesting to see if they can nail that sense of fear and isolation so to speak. Even looking forward to the story as well. They've made mentioned of us maybe experiencing Cortana's transition into rampancy. That should make for a pretty cool story angle as well as seeing how it affects the Chief. I wouldn't mind if Chief had some of the Reach abilities as like 'standard'. Maybe at the very least the ability to sprint.

If it's playable to the press then I reckon it'll just be multiplayer, which will be interesting as it should give us a really good indicator as to what direction 343i are taking the franchise.

They seem eager to please the fans so I'm expecting Halo 3-esque gameplay, Halo 2 ranking system, with Halo Reach's assassinations and customisation. I doubt they'll include armour abilities as we know them, a lot of people in the community are always bleeting on about how they've 'ruined' Halo. If they stay then I think it'll be as collectibles around the map as opposed to spawning with them, that's how the MLG guys play at the moment, spawn with sprint and others can be picked up around the map.

I think it is got to be one of the worst series of this gen.
They must be milking it dry by now.

The last installment was 2007, we've just had a couple of prequels since then. Plus it's still the best multiplayer FPS around.

Seriously? I'd consider Halo: Reach to be the best Halo game since the first one. If Reach isn't a "proper" Halo game then I don't know what is. I found Halo 2 and 3 to be very sub par compared to Reach.
Regardless, 1cmanny1 has a point. The franchise has been milked to strawberry float. Six Halo games (including Halo 4) this gen is a joke.

As long as the games continue to be good, I'm happy to see them continue to make them. It's not exactly the worst offender for number of games in a franchise, it has plenty of life left in it and it'll be interesting to see how Halo 4 turns out what with it being the start of a new story in the Halo universe and with a new developer at the helm.

Must say it's strange to see people moaning about the existence of Halo 4 again, it's been known about for ages now.
