Not sure I like these strategy parts defending the Assassin's base

I'm seeing lots of comments along the lines of "farewell Ezio, it's been an honour". These are confusing me.

Now I've only played the first two games (picked up Brotherhood for a tenner recently but haven't had a chance to play, and will probably grab Revelations too at some point) but my lasting impression of Ezio was that he was a complete ass hat and I couldn't give two gooseberry fools about anything that happened to him. Does something particularly exciting happened in terms of character development over the last two games or am I just not digging Ezio?

It must be you. I thought Ezio was awesome from the start of AC2.

Ezio.

Is there a bug with this? It boots me off Xbox live as soon as I launch it and then crashes when I try to sign back in :|

Severely disapointed by how short this is; it seems like Ubisoft have been making gradually less effort since II, which is still the best game in the entire series and one of my favourite games this generation. Improving the way the game plays is great, but if you keep cutting back on story and the variety of locales then you end up with something less appealing. Hopefully they have some breathing space before 3 comes out and allow the team to produce something really special again.

Trading this today for The DArkness 2. Havent even finished it but i just cant be arsed. Its case of jack of all trades for this game. Trying to add in too much stuff and none of it feels particularly well realised. Stategy sections are gooseberry fool, combat is gooseberry fool, story is really weak and fairly uninteresting, animus island, again gooseberry fool, actual platforming seems shittier this time around too, shame as i loved AC2 & Ass Bro. Pity the Ezio arc had to go out like this. AC3 better be a radical shake up from this.

The characters in this were fairly forgettable, with the exception of Sophia. At one point one of your friends dies and I was like "meh" because I woudln't even remember his name. Even the villains in the previous games were better. The Borgias were awesome villains, Cesare as well as his family, whereas I have already forgotten the name of the main guy this one who was really more of a puppet for the Templars anyway.

All i remember was Sophia too. Cant remember the name of the main assassin guy you first meet, nor the bad guys, hell i didnt even know who the bad guys were to be honest. Defintiely noone as good as Mario or Cesare & Lucrezia.

Finally the DLC we've all been waiting for- more Desmond levels!

Quote:
Assassin's Creed: Revelations will receive new single-player Desmond DLC, alongside a 'Game of the Year' retail release, reports have suggested.

A new batch of Achievements referring to additional Animus-based puzzle sections have been posted by Xbox 360 Achievements.

The DLC is yet to be given a name, release date or price, but the ten additional Achievements are worth 250 points.

A brand new retail release, titled Assassin's Creed: Revelations - Ottoman Edition, has also been discovered.

Briefly posted on the GAME website, the front cover of the Ottoman Edition boasts free downloadable content.

Fellow retailer AMX, meanwhile, lists the game for release on March 16, reports CVG.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations was released last November. The game has been supported with a number of multiplayer DLC packs since its launch.

In other news, this year's version Assassin's Creed is released October 30, 2012. Hopefully the fact they're calling it Assassin's Creed 3 means it's a proper sequel and they're not just re-releasing Assassin's Creed 2 in another city for the third time.

Quote:
Assassin's Creed III has been announced by Ubisoft.

The announcement came during a conference call with investors today, during which the game's release date was also revealed for October 30, 2012.

"We will push the title a lot because it's a fantastic product that the team has been working on for three years," Ubisoft president Yves Guillemot told investors. "What we have seen is just fabulous."

The game was announced as Assassin's Creed III, suggesting a new setting and characters, though no details have been revealed at this point. Rumours have suggested the next game in the series could take place in America during The American Revolutionary War.

Guillemot has previously hinted that the next Assassin's Creed title will be the "biggest to date".

Assassin's Creed: Revelations was released last November, building on the story and characters from Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Assassin's Creed III will arrive on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on October 30.

I'm liking that he's saying people have been working on it for three years. Well, as long as by that he doesn't mean "by getting experience from making Brotherhood and Revelations". Hopefully that means when they reveal it, it'll be really different from the AC2 Trilogy.

I like almost everything about Assassins Creed other than that banana split Desmond. I would rather play as Danny Wallace.

Why don't you just take a break instead, rather than feeling obliged to play them as they come out?
