Just started this.

Is it me, or does Desmond look quite a bit different now?

Same with Ezio, though that might largely be due to being so old and flabby.

Bah, within minutes there is a horrible wagon bit. I like the AC series for mixing things up, but when I started the game all I wanted to do was explore a new city and get all stabby-stabby.

Still, looking forward to the Altair bits. I was tempted to replay the original, but this may satisfy those urges (without having to put up with AC's tedium).

Yeah, he does look different this time.

I haven't been played this for a while and just got back to it earlier. It's great so far and I'm into DNA Sequence Five at the moment.

Personally I think Desmond looks different in every game same with Ezio. I think it was Brotherhood when Desmond looked like Adam Sandler.

There was a big jump up from AC to AC II, and he did indeed look like Adam Sandler in Brotherhood.

Anyway, I have just done the first Tower Defense section. It wasn't... that bad... at all. Only the awful camera angle lets it down - it would be much better either being top down, or from the angle of the Assassin Base itself.

More Desmond levels :fp:

Great idea! Portal 2 was successful on consoles, so lets introduce our own knock off, but with no humour, no real puzzles and awfully clunky controls! :fp:

I've bought this again and am now playing it instead of Skyrim. Thing is, every time I switch the console on, instead of loading up AssRev I just start a game of Geometry Wars 2.

I don't think a game has ever giving me motion sickness before, but those first-person Desmond ones left me really ill (and not because they were bland and awful).

Granted I didn't really you could fall and put a block under you rather than painstakingly shuffle down a metre at a time. It took ruddy ages.

Still, the Ezio bits have keptmoaning me captivated again. Just like II and Brotherhood, there is always one more thong to do just round the corner. And I actually like the micro-management stuff as well.

The bombs add another layer on top of thongs, though admittedly, may make the assassinations a touch too easy.

Aside from the tutorial bit, I completely ignored bombs for the rest of the game.

I liked the Desmond levels. Although it felt like someone had played too much Portal before writing the game design document.

Did the bit with the ships last night. All that fire. I also got the fourth disc thing. Seeing Altair like that was both cool and sad. Loved how the assassins clear the way for him though. And lolz at how some of them seemed to be dead ringers for Karl Pilkington.
I also bothered to actually buy a dye  Masyaf white

Just finished it. That bit with the carriage and parachute  8-)

I want Ezio and Altair back!

Ending cutscene spoilers  I was quite enjoying the ending but then they showed off the futuristic city and well... I found myself rooting for the solar flare.

I hope they go back and remake the original one day. Would be nice to play it with the AC II/Bro/Rev improvements added in.

Just reached DNA Sequence 7 and it's great so far.

The ending of DNA Sequence 6 was cool, I thought. 8-)

Just done the mission where you dress up as a minstrel. That was... disturbing, but quite funny to hear Ezio singing about his past.

I am actually quite enjoying this. It is full.of enjoyable fluff and I have just spent the past three hours or so wandering the city doing bits and bobs. It is stuffed with content too.

Sure, Istanbul is the worst city of the Ezio games and the plot isn't as compelling as the other two, but it is good for a "mere" yearly update.

Currently up to the middle of Sequence 4.

Bit of a question about the series in general. I was so looking forward to the original AC, it was in my top most anticipated games when I started this generation of gaming, but ended up bitterly disappointed. I've not bothered to even look at another AC game since, but after hearing them talk about AC3 on the Giant Bombcast, it's made me willing to give the series a second chance.

How much plot is there in Brotherhood and Revelations? Would I be missing huge chunks of the story by just playing AC2 and then going into 3? Seems like playing AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations and AC3 in the space of 9 months could very well lead to feeling burnt out on the series.

At the very least play AC2 and if afterwards you don't want to play the others look up the small extra bits of plot. AC2 is such a massive improvement over AC1 gameplay wise. So much so I wish one day they'd go back to AC1 with the new mechanics, it would be such a better game.

All the games are direct sequels taking place pretty much where the previous one left off. I'd definitely recommend playing 2, but you could probably get by with jut reading up on the plot of Brotherhood and Revelations on the Wiki.

That's settled then :D Will pick up AC2 and see if I have the urge for more by the end of it.
