Remember SEGA's amazing looking arcade games in the mid to late 90s? Want to play all those lovely games on your PC? Now you can...

Obviously being a brand new emulator there's still a few kinks to iron out and sound has yet to be configured. Those wanting to play that arcade perfect Virtua Fighter 3 at home may just have to hold on a little while longer...

Tried this out yesterday.

Emulation is in a very early stage at the moment. There's no sound for starters. Still, it was nice to play Scud race.

Well MAME development was going really slowly. It's been around for ages and all they had to show for it were glitchy versions of Scud Race that were barely playable.

Really impressed that they've got so many games working on this for a newly released emulator. As soon as they fix the bugs with Virtua Fighter 3 and figure out how to get the sound running I'll be upgrading my PC :)

Edit: I completely forgot about this...

None of those games are rememberable to me and SEGA Rally > SEGA Rally 2.

I think too many people judge Sega Rally 2 on the pitiful Dreamcast conversion. To me the arcade version felt much more solid.

Look like we're going to have to wait for the next update to test it again.

The Dreamcast version was alright, it was pretty faithful to the arcade. Especially after you entered the cheats which reduced the detail and capped the framerate at 30fps. Game also worked better with the digital pad, rather than the analogue.

Sega Rally 2 was an inferior game to Sega Rally 1 though. Inferior handling and none of the tracks were as memorable as the 4 original Sega Rally tracks. Also, Sega Model 2's best racers > Best of their Model 3 stuff. They really were at their height whey they churned out Daytona and Rally. To this day, I don't think I've experienced a racing game as intense as 8 player Daytona. Goes to show, it just wasn't about the graphics.

That's an impressive emulator.

I'd prefer a decent Saturn one though.

Virtua Fighter 3 was pretty amazing, I saw Daytona USA 2 when I went bowling the other day, for some reason it lacks the sparkle of the original to me but still a good game.

Scud Race wasn't as good a game as people remember, I'm sure there were some courses from it as extras in Outrun 2?

Virtual On Oratorio Tangram & Daytona USA 2

I wasn't blown away by VF3, I still think VF2 in the arcade looks as good :shifty:

VF3 had the side step move which I thought was great, also it added the differing heights that changed the attacks.

It played great, wasn't as good as VF2 though. VF4 was a huge improvement.

Pity the Dreamcast version was disappointing. I remember the game primarily because of the Gamesmaster special, where they had that Japanese fella beat the gooseberry fool out of 100 of our 'finest' gamers.

It's a shame they couldn't have kept evade as a double tap on the up button.

VF4 was a step back from VF3, the loss of multi-leveled stages was a poor decision as it opened up so much variety to the play and with good design could've been built on.

VF5 was just VF4 in HD with online play.

I was talking about the framerate and borders, there was no 60hz option in the Pal version, SR2 didn't have one either from what I remember.

I'm going for Magical Truck Adventure on account of the name alone!

I remember seeing the Star Wars arcade and always being mystified by it. Don't think I ever played it though. Oh and for some reason I could never get passed the second track in Sega Rally 2 (which I think was the mountain?)
