Man I need to work on my filters more in ICE.



It did take between 5-10 mins to load though, but faster than the guy suggested. You cant alt tab out of it or anything so you just have to sit on a black screen

I might just start it up when I get home, get a brew and some food, then alt tab it after its done till Im ready to play.

From the testing Ive done, there isnt a great deal of difference between the optimised and ultra packs so long at the res is under like 2560*1600 so you can easily use the optimised one and enjoy the pretties. The textures are still up to 4x over vanilla.

If youre on a fully patched version i dont know if id bother. For one thing, i opened the install folder for 1.0.7, and theres a file in there named IT DOESNT LOOK VERY GOOD. Then theres another wanring about using a specific dll if youre concerned about your GPU burning out

As a counterpoint, I am on a fully patched steam version and running it fine. I did apply the red sky fix just to be safe which gets rid of the alternative sky texture, but aside from that, all rosy.

Yeah, it's just not playing ball. I launch the game, it gives me the loading screen. I get the little ping and then it just drops me back to the desktop.

Just think; dynamic lighting, dof, and a bit more anisotropic filtering and it wouldnt look out of place in a current gen lineup.

Is that the vanilla MP2, or are you using mods to make it look that good? I've been meaning to go back to Max Payne after enjoying the Alan Wake games, and they're only a tenner on Steam... How often do sales roll around? Know I missed out on the Jedi Knight collection for 4 quid a few weeks back
