Just killed my first Blood Dragon. Luckily I had three guards in Riverwood to draw him away so I could just shoot him with arrows before jumping on his head and (what looked like) bludgeoning him to death with my sword. 8-)

I've been really out of the Skyrim loop since Christmas. Since starting this back up, I'm noticing none of the dragons I kill are giving me souls. It's not a huge issue as I have more them stored up than I'll ever need, but is this a common bug at the moment? I know even from the start it would happen occasionally, but it's now happened 4 times in a row.

^Only time I didn't get souls was when killing re-spawned dragons at Dragon Lairs.

You're not a mage at all! You're a filthy warlock.

 I do other magic too! Like... like transmute... and ebony flesh :shifty:

I try to make an effort with destruction, but it's usually when I commit to it that I'll get insta-killed by a bear or a bandit chief :(

Yeah, Destruction feels like a bit of let-down compared to other offensive options. I went quite deep in to it on my first character but then ended up opting for archery and daggers because I too was getting battered rather easily playing exclusively as Destruction (minuscule magic pool didn't help either). I had intended to try out a high level Destruction build coupled with silent casting and high sneak on my second character but she quickly morphed into a badass warrior queen. Maybe next time.

Also, does anyone know if the Windhelm house is the only one you can have mannequins and an armoury in? I would've thought the more expensive Solitude house would have them but I haven't been given the option to purchase them from the Jarl's servant dude.

Solitude mansion has two mannequins and a few display cases.

Back when I bought the Windhelm house evidence of the previous occupants hobby (murdering women) was still evident even after fully decking it out with furnishings and whatnot. I think they've patched it since.

I don't do these quickly - I just can't leave things unexplored or unlooted. I put over 600 hours into my first Oblivion character :fp:

I hope I'll hit similar numbers with Skyrim once the DLC starts appearing.

Really, where? Now you mention it I haven't done anything to the basement at all, so maybe there's something down there other than scary ghosts.

Played so much of this over the weekend, such a great game

Dunno where exactly I didn't keep it for long.

edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Eoi2xgZnnU Yup, in the basement. May have got the display cases thing wrong but it does have two weapon plaques.

Stumbled onto the Dark Brotherhood quest line last night

They were my favourite quests in Oblivion, so I'm hoping for some good quests even though my character isn't set up like an Assassin at all.

strawberry floating hell.

I really like this game but it's trying it's best to put me off. I can't progress in the main story because the wizard I'm supposed to speak to says " I don't need your help"

I have done tons of side quests hoping it will trigger it but nothing . Will finish mass effect then get back on this.

I can't see myself doing that unless the DLC is huge. All I'm left with is a bit of random wandering to find the occasional cave I haven't explored. And now I'm over the 'soft cap' in the 60s I'm more or less in destructible, so it lacks tension.

They probably shouldn't have made the crafting/enchanting line so appealing - in my legendary, double enchanted dragon scale armour and trinkets, I can just stand in the middle of a group of a dozen enemies - dragons, giants, mammoths, whatever - and they can all go nuts and I just stand there in my little protective bubble with my health barely diminishing. That's assuming of course I didn't sneak up on them and one shot kill them with my crazy bow and arrow set up.

Problem is that it's definitely the gear and not my character - if I take off the armour and sword, put on robes and go destruction magic, I end up running away from bears

I think this is why after making a few characters I found my mage more enjoyable, every now and then a bandit chief gets past something and I get my head lopped off

Played this a bit too much today and decided to level up blacksmithing. 400 iron daggers and leather bracers later, I'm now level 85 and making some stuff that's actually useful to my character. I think 5 or 6 of my overall levels have been given by blacksmithing now (I'm only level 22).

I tempted to re-buy this if the latest patches have made a decent improvement to the ps3 version.

Quote:
Bethesda will unveil its heavily rumoured Elder Scrolls MMO in May, according to a new report.
Elder Scrolls Online, as it is apparently known, is set a millennium prior to the events of Skyrim, an "industry source" told Tom's Guide.
It is speculated that this means the unannounced game is set during the Second Era of Elder Scrolls lore, hundreds of years before any game in the fantasy role-playing series. It will, apparently, feature three playable factions, each represented by an animal: lion, dragon and bird of prey (either a phoenix or an eagle).

They have, just buy it.

Argh, i'm still still pissed off about how much of a non-event the ending was. Why can't Bethesda ever do decent endings?!

Apologies if I'm teaching grandma how to suck eggs, but...

You know you're warrior can easily be turned into just about any other class, yeah? To go stealth just make sure you're sneaking/hidden as you go about playing the game. Start using bows and daggers/1h swords. Also turn in your heavy armour for light/cloth gear.

Yeah, I'm doing this, but my sneaking/bows skills are about as low as they can be at the moment. I was planning to go back through as a stealth character anyway, so I don't mind stumbling through with my rubbish assassin for now.
