Was just doing the Forsworn Conspiracy. First time I tried it I killed everyone in Nepos' house and then every single guard in Markath attacked me. Then when I get to the guy at the end back at the Temple he's bloody dead. Reloaded and now even if I pickpocket him the guy is still dead. Need to reload back quite a way, I think.

They are tossers and it sucks that you have to put down so many patriotic Nords, but a lot of them are racists and bigots anyway. Go to Windhelm and you'll see what they're really like.



Oh and to make you feel extra bad they're going to make life hell for the Dark Elves, if not outright exile/kill them.

There's two guards and this guy who tellls me to join the legion. And the quest marker hovers over where he used to be standing rather than where his body is. Guards don't say jack.

Once there were about ten in there and they attacked me on sight.

Orc's are racists i'm guessing, i'm an Orc and when i go to the strong holds i usually get offered quests...

and my Orc is a racist, i kill dark elves for no other reason other than they are dark elves.

When you go in there next time don't draw your weapon or anything. One of the soldiers (he's a high rank looking soldier type, not like the ones you see on patrol) should talk to you and give you the option to surrender.

In the scenario where the third guard who is supposed to talk to you about you being framed etc., it can be replaced by a Legate who only asks you if you want to join the Legion, there is a workaround (although it entails having to start at a point prior to gathering the evidence). The problem may be due to the lack of an "objective" to return to Eltrys after each piece of evidence is found for Margret, Weylin, Nepos, and Thonar. If you gather evidence for Weylin and Thonar and Nepos before reporting back to Eltrys, the Legate will be at the Shrine of Talos and you will not be able to finish the quest. However, if you return to Eltrys immediately after each piece of evidence is found, he will give you gold for the information, and more importantly, the correct dialogue will appear once you go to the Shrine of Talos for the "Return to Eltrys" objective. Keep in mind that when you start the new quest "No One Escapes Cidhna Mine" any miscellaneous quest items (like the Elder Scroll) will not be returned to you when you get your inventory back. (Confirmed on PC)

Go there. Look for something that's outside the tower and compare their attitude to that of Ulfric and his Stormcloaks.
I still kill any and all Thalmor I find and my Divine buff of choice is almost always the Talos one.
