I loved the way Whiskey Media ran their business and the sites they put together. I'm happy that they'll all continue on but I'm kinda sad to see WM absorbed into BB. Would have been nice if they could have kept going on their own.

Hmmm. On the face of it, probably much to be glad about: GiantBomb's money-worries are, for the short-term at least, over with. Jeff, Ryan and the crew have access to a bigger pool of technology and resources. GiantBomb, for the moment, keeps it's 'independence' and identity.

But, well, let's be honest. We know from a hundred other examples, how this sh*t eventually goes down: Small but wildly popular and/or successful start-up gets swallowed by SuperHugeMedia and it isn't too long after the honeymoon the cracks begin to show.

There is no such thing as a 'safe' corporate umbrella. I appreciate it was tough trying to make the sums add up as an independent website, but I fear GB might discover way too late that running into the arms of CBS wasn't perhaps the wisest of moves.

But a rock and a hard place and all that. I understand. Rent and wages need paying. What are you gonna do?

Just worried for the future, is all.

Man, Tested looks completely different now, they sure didn't waste any time. The logo now says 'Jamie and Adam Tested' and there's a picture of them. Will and Norm hopefully not disappearing into the background.

Indeed, very disappointing. I understand the Mythbusters are big drawers but considering Will and Norm built the site, they deserve some recognition. No reason they couldn't have all four of them as the faces of the site.

There was a big fuss about "oh man, now that Giant Bomb have been bought by a bigger company, they're going to totally change, their identity is going to be completely washed away". Did anyone think that exactly that would occur, but for Tested? Because that's kinda what's happened to them, and it's actually upsetting to see.

Incredibly sad to see indeed

It seems that Giant Bomb have maintained pretty much all creative control with the CBS deal (probably due to John Davison's common sense and the pickiness of Jeff, Dave and Ryan). So far Bermanbraun have been a lot more heavy handed with Tested while Matt Rorie didn't even know if he still had a job yesterday (thankfully he's staying on, for the time being).
