I'm looking to set up my wii to play us GameCube games. Anyone got any tips for doing this? I have a us copy of f zero and I'd like to play it on my wii with my component cable. It looks like arse when I used the scart from the GameCube on my Telly.

Choose one of these exploits depending on what firmware you're on. The LannerBomb one will probably be the best one to go for if you're not sure.

Ignore what $ilva posted.

Man, all the guides seem quite intimidating. Up to the point you fire the first thing on the Wii seems straightforward, but after that the interface on the homebrew thing looks like the most unintuitive program ever.

With these things you should just make sure you've got all the stuff you need and then just start. You'll muddle your way through, eventually. I basically sat there with my laptop and kept looking up more in depth info on what I needed to do at each stage. Got there in the end.

I managed to sort it out via letterbomb. Only casualty was my HBC is now upside down when I go into it.

Any idea how I can play DVDs on my wii? I installed darkcorp but can't see anything on the main menu.

Install the homebrew browser, from there you can get all sorts of apps to play media, emulators, etc etc.

This.

So much easier searching and installing apps and tweaks using that.

Got it all sorted. My homebrew channel has gone upside down though. Everything works fine on it though.

Managed to get the homebrew browser so used that to get a Snes emulator. Now to get some perfectly legal roms of games I already own. Thinking this is a good time to get LTTP in preparation for the new one, seeing as nintendo are so slow off he mark with the VC.

Oh yeah! It takes Nintendo god knows how long to get it out on the WiiU vc (if they ever do it) yet I can fire it on the Wii with a rom in an afternoon. They need to get their gooseberry fool together.

Unfortunately Nintendo need to worry about the legality of their ROMs. That and they drip feed content to stop you getting bored.

That Zelda is perfectly legal, it's a whole lot less hassle than getting my Snes out and blowing the old cartridge slot out.

For some reason I can only access snes9x by launching via the HBC. I've seen videos where is shows on people's system menu. Any idea how to do that?
