Does anyone elses PS3 just switch off during download of the latest update? Mine goes off completely, not even into standby, just completely off with no red light.

I think it might be a problem with my console but wanted to check if there was a specific problem with the update at all (?).

Anyone play this any more?

I had a great session the other night racing my 780bhp cobra around a kart track i'd made. No assits and full manual gears on my wheel (clutch and stick is perfect for a car like that).

It was a right handful! I only used 3rd and 4th gear and i only get about 1 second of full throttle but the feeling of driving is second to none. Going around corners with the back out, criss crossing the wheel while clutching for gears is just

All the time.

It's brilliant.

Yeah...I deleted everyone because I don't really have the same tastes.

Quote:
GTPlanet has dug up an interesting rumor as several sources are suggesting that Australia’s famous Mount Panorama Circuit at Bathurst could be on the way to Gran Turismo.

GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi has expressed his interest in Bathurst before, commenting that “Bathurst is in our roadmap” all the way back in 2006. Since then, not much has happened until the Bathurst 12 Hour race last month where information surfaced that Polyphony Digital had both filmed and photographed the track as well as signed a licensing agreement with the track operators.

While this is not officially confirmed yet, it also remains to be seen whether the track would be saved up for Gran Turismo 6 or added to GT5 via DLC as the studio has already added Spa Francorchamps as a major addition via the DLC route.

Bathurst Australia’s most iconic racing facility, featuring a stunning run up Mount Panorama using mostly public roads, the 3.8 mile circuit hosts the annual Bathurst 1000, V8 Supercars’ marquee event as well as several sports car races.

I really don't know why I haven't put more time into GT5 or Forza 4. Whenever I play them I enjoy them but I have very little desire to go back and play them the next day which confuses me as I put monstrous hours into GT3 and Forza 2 and both series have plainly progressed since then.

I should buy another racing wheel.

I'd been back on GT5 recently with mixed feelings, awesome at times but it actually managed to get stuck forever loading a final championship race I'd been winning, and a few other things like the points system not seeming to work/be honest really frustrated me. Also my B-spec driver winning two sets of races by miles, but being totally inept at overtaking on one of three tracks seems to make some of these sets impossible to win, even in a superior car.

Also, the game has been giving me I think 150% extra credits and experience in all races, last time I played that jumped up to 170% I think. Does anyone know what this about?

It's a bonus, it goes up every time you play the game on for consecutive days.

So you play on a Monday, it goes up to 150%, then on Tuesday to it goes to 170% etc.

However if you break the chain and miss a day it starts over.

Someone has compared the framerate/tearing of the original GT5 to the lastest update:

Quote:
Ver1.00 Avg: 52.781fps Min-Max :44.0-60.0 fps Tear: 74.167% (73.021%)
Ver2.03 Avg: 60.000fps Min-Max :60.0-60.0 fps Tear: 0.911% (0.833%)

Well strawberry float me if I didnt just manage to get my spastic bspec bob to win a race through STRATEGY!

Mopping up some of the big championships while i work in here (giving me excellent excuses to go to the other room to make tea) so i was doing the formula 1 type one where i went into the last race at suzuka having forgotten to put the downforce back up from the previous race at monza..

Anyway, bob was running 5th on lap 20 of 30 (i think) so i got him to push hard on dead tyres then pit, putting him 8th but on fresh softs, then push like mad in clear space before overtaking the two leaders with 3 laps to go as they pitted! The only problem was that i was ultra low on fuel so i had him slowing down like crazy for two laps...he ran out of fuel coming out of the LAST corner and tickled down the straight juuuuust going over the line 3 seconds ahead of 2nd place

The thing that pisses me off with the academy is that to get anywhere near a decent time, you have to cheat by driving with half a car on the grass through all the corners. What's the point in that when this is supposed to have applications for the real world of racing?!

Have you ever watched the BTCC or Sundays GP?

;)

Understand what you mean however that's allowed.

Does this appear as an event in GT5, or is it a completely separate download ?
