Loving everything I've seen so far. Some of the information from the Famitsu review (10/9/9/9 37/40) has me even more hyped. It's sounding very much like despite the stigma of a monster hunting game, they've taken it in a very different direction, a more hyper pace, a heavy focus on magic and spells, a very dark story and "overflowing with originality" apparently. Cannot come soon enough. The price cut is sure to aid it in Japan, but I wonder how great an idea it is releasing it on the same day as Tales Of Hearts R. Although with such great ads as shown below, it's bound to do amazingly?
Or perhaps not. That guy at the end . Amazing.

According to the US blog, your save from the demo carries over into the full game.
Bit more info,
Quote:
Your first reaction to the demo might be, “Holy moly, this is a LOT of demo!” …And you’d be right! The entire first chapter of the full game is included, all of which is playable with up to three other friends via online or ad-hoc multiplayer. Inafune-san made it a special point for the demo to be quite substantial, as you can read in his comments below:
“The number one reason for the Soul Sacrifice demo to have a lot of content was to show the users the full attraction of Soul Sacrifice. We knew that cutting out a small section of the game and saying, ‘Isn’t this part fun?’ would not show the users the full potential of the game. We figured that it wouldn’t make sense if the users could not have the ‘I want to play more’ feeling.
“So, we decided we want to provide, ‘at the very least,’ this amount of the game for the users. That is why, if you compare it to a standard demo, this became such a substantial piece. But we are confident that this will not become something negative where the users will feel like, ‘We played enough.’ After we released the demo version in Japan we received many voices, saying ‘[I] want to play more’ and ‘I want to get more hooked on this game.’ That is why we believe making this demo with this amount of volume and detail was a success.” Soul Sacrifice is a long adventure, with dozens of hours of gameplay. The demo is not only a great way to sample the full experience, but also to let you get a head start on that adventure before the game releases. To that end — this part is important, pay attention! — the save data will carry over to the full game! Not only that, if you do carry over demo save data to the full game, you will receive an exclusive bonus item: “Spirits’ Heart”! It summons a powerful stone golem that will fight for you!
I'd love to hear some detailed thoughts on this, especially from some fans of Monster Hunter
I fuggin' love me some Monster Hunter, and this looks excellent. Need to know if it's 'worth buying a Vita for' excellent.
This game is nothing like Monster Hunter.
It's a third person Action rpg-lite.
I've watched a lot of videos on this and I have to say it looks like it's pure hype and underwhelming as strawberry float.
I'm waiting for a proper Monster Hunter on Vita but I doubt they're going to make one seeing as they've gone Wii U and 3ds recently.
but is monster hunter actually any good,i tried it previously on the wii and i really didn't enjoy it,i think it was because of how it was constructed and what felt like bad mechanisms and controls that weren't very smooth, i have listened to a lot of podcasts though where people have said thats its one of the games you have to plug away on and then suddenly it will click. For this though i might as well give the demo of a go as i am actually more of rpg lite person rather than hardcore (final fantasy,y's etc) . My main rpg i'm waiting for is phantasy star online.
