It all comes down to personal preference really, neither controller is bad or has any serious flaws which is great. I'm happy to play either, though given the choice I would pick the Xbox pad.

I've not had that issue and played Killer Instinct a whole day solid, it was surprisingly comfortable, even the dpad. I haven't had a chance to play PS4 for a day straight, but the pad is also comfortable but I don't like the triggers as much, a lot of travel from trigger to bumper.

Alpha prefers the XBO pad, little point arguing about it.

Oh, sorry. Some people like the PS4 pad more than the XBO and vice versa. Personally, I like the DS3 (As in; I didn't detest it like many) so I'm really looking forward to trying out a much improved version. :D

The only thing I liked about the PS1 pad was the nostalgia, the PS4 pad looks like it just melts into the hands like the 360 pad.

Surprised in a way to see the chart still so dominant for the PS4.

Xbox One for the online multiplayer and the superior controller. Those two things make such a huge impact on what I use the console for (playing multiplayer games) that there was only one real choice.

Those of you used to Xbox Live who are buying PS4 are in for such a nasty shock come November.

Except PSN on PS4 isn't PSN on PS3, hence the subscription charge.

Cheaper price and more powerful hardware combo is an attractive proposition.

I'm not surprised at all, the majority of people picking the XBO would have probably still got it before all the u-turns. Even with all the u-turns the PS4 is still the higher spec console and given that 80-90% of games you will play are going to be multi-format, it is still the sensible choice for those who will buy just one console.

Had originally planned to pick up a PS4 then perhaps an Xbox One at a later date. Now getting neither - well at least for the foreseeable future. Might get one or the other when the prices have dropped considerably. (I'm talking under £200, so yes a long wait). PC is where I'll be spending the big bucks this time around.

Will only consider buying one of them in a year or two, with the PS4 much more likely to be the one I would choose. PC will likely be my main platform beyond that anyway.

Speaking of the PS4 pad, I am hearing good things about it on Gaf. I wish it was fully compatible with the PS3.

Pad bullshit? Next to the games it's the most important thing, as you'll be holding it for near enough every game you play. The comfort of the pad is massively important and if you disagree, would you be happy playing with a gooseberry fool pad like the first Xbox one? No.

Both pads are lovely, the PS4 pad is a huge improvement over the DS3 which I'm happy about because I really didn't like the cheap light weight feel of the DS3.

Saying an Xbox is better due to its pad is just fan boy rubbish, and used a lot because it is the only thing they think they have. I have used both PS3 and 360 pads a lot, the only thing the 360 pad does better is the triggers. But you would be stupid to base your purchasing decisions on that, the difference is so minor. Once you use them for 5 minutes you forget you are even holding them.

And by the sound of it the difference is even smaller for next gen, if there is even a noticeable difference at all.

I'm sorry, where did I say that the Xbox is better?

The Xbox pad is better, hands down but that doesn't make it the better console, it just means I personally will have more comfort playing multiplatform games on it over the PS4.

Please read my posts properly before calling me a fan boy.

You are saying you will get third parties on an inferior machine, purely because of the controller. And you are implying the PS4 controller will put you in discomfort, when I know for a fact that is rubbish. Unbiased indeed.

If you personally prefer one system, then just say and stop pretending you can make unbiased reviews.

Both for me at the moment, although that may change in the next couple of weeks.

They're about the same. The Bone pad wins for me due to slightly better analogue sticks and correct D-Pad placement on the left side. They're both great pads though and this is from someone who finds previous DS pads to be hand cripplingly gooseberry fool.
