PS4. I'd need to also buy a new TV if I bought an Xbone.

I had preorders for both, but my brother is having my Xbone preorder and my PS4 one is cancelled. There are no good launch games on either platform.

PS4 for me. One console future due to lack of time to play them. Didn't really rate the last couple of years for Xbox 360, all the good games were multi platform where as the PS3 has some fantastic games in the last couple of years.

The PS4 price point, PS plus value and the VITA remote play all make it the only choice for me. Plus EVERYONE I know who is picking up a next gen console is getting a PS4. Normally my mates and I have all been split across the 2 systems but this time we will all be on the same platform, can't wait to play altogether.

I am getting both, but have decided to get the Xbox One at launch and the PS4 early next year. I can't really justify buying both at the same time costs wise.

Aside from the DRM and always online I thought MS had the better E3 showing in terms of games and certainly for me has come up with the better looking launch lineup. I also like the additional functionality that comes with Kinect even if the console to a bit too pricey for its own good as a result. I have also always preferred the 360 pad over the dualshock, though the PS4 pad is supposed to have been greatly improved. Added to that is the fact that my most anticipated next gen console exclusive is out in March on the xbox one: titanfall.

In the end the order that I am picking each up is due to what I think of the games coming out over the launch window rather than numbers on a page. To that end the xbox is the more appealing, certainly at this stage.

Of course, Killzone could get 10s all round, the pad may no longer be an issue and the PS4 3rd party stuff may be demonstably better than all the xbox ones (something like Destiny if the PS4 version is better would mean I have to have it on that console) such that I could end up buying the fecking thing as soon as I can after the Christmas rush!

I'm getting both. I don't care which is more powerful, all I care about is the games and having both means I don't miss out on any exclusives.

I think the Xbox One pad is much better than the PS4, so I will have multiplatform titles on the Xbox One, not too fussed about the 720p malarky thing as my TV is 720p any way, even with a big TV I would prefer to play the game with a better pad then have it slightly more sharper.

Really excited for new consoles but am quite sure my Wii U will get the most play time over the next two months.

Xbox One - Only getting Killer Instinct and bundled Fifa (rubbish, will trade for Forza if anyone wants)
PS4 - Gamer Pack from Amazon, Killzone, 2 pads and a camera that will stay in the box (unless PS4 has any good use for it)

Please don't tell me we are still getting the pad bullshit this generation. :fp:

Speaking of the PS4 pad, I am hearing good things about it on Gaf. I wish it was fully compatible with the PS3.

Pad bullshit? Next to the games it's the most important thing, as you'll be holding it for near enough every game you play. The comfort of the pad is massively important and if you disagree, would you be happy playing with a gooseberry fool pad like the first Xbox one? No.

Both pads are lovely, the PS4 pad is a huge improvement over the DS3 which I'm happy about because I really didn't like the cheap light weight feel of the DS3.

Pads have become a lot more important due to the decline of third party exclusives and the rise of online FPSs.

Saying an Xbox is better due to its pad is just fan boy rubbish, and used a lot because it is the only thing they think they have. I have used both PS3 and 360 pads a lot, the only thing the 360 pad does better is the triggers. But you would be stupid to base your purchasing decisions on that, the difference is so minor. Once you use them for 5 minutes you forget you are even holding them.

And by the sound of it the difference is even smaller for next gen, if there is even a noticeable difference at all.

I am getting an Xbone on release day and will pick up a PS4 at some point next year.

I am not a fan of the PS pad and so am interested in trying the new one. It looks a massive improvement and so I am hopeful it will close the gap.

I'm sorry, where did I say that the Xbox is better?

The Xbox pad is better, hands down but that doesn't make it the better console, it just means I personally will have more comfort playing multiplatform games on it over the PS4.

Please read my posts properly before calling me a fan boy.

I've heard and read a lot of places saying the PS4 pad is better, which is surprising.

I've heard a lot of people saying that the XBO controller is less comfortable to grip due to the angular edges around the bottom.

Apart from the d-pad the 360 pad was perfection for me. Going off YouTube impressions, people are realising the problem with the PS3 pad wasn't down to the stick placement, but the looseness and height of the sticks themselves.
