I have a very faint and distance memory of thinking that ice cream was called ice gooseberry fool. Can't remember if it's true or not or what the strawberry float?

I agree, I copied and pasted from a lyrics site without looking at spelling. :fp:

Sure you did buddy.

One word I always stuff up, and to this day have no clue how to spell, is the word that is used to describe two pieces of bread put together. Sandwitch, sandwidch, have no strawberry floating clue.

I once said it in class (it's as though they can't be asked) and my teacher asked me to repeat myself. So I did. She looked over at another teacher who happened to be there and they had a quiet conversation on what the flip I was saying. A couple of girls asked me what I'd said and so I repeated it again. Nothing more was said and so I was left more than a little confused. Years later I realised my mistake and it still makes me chuckle and cringe in equal measure. And then, later still, I learned I actually had got it right and can't be arsed was a sweary version of what I'd said.

Teachers

This. Except there was little confused as I can talk properly.

People who "arks" for something. No, you can't. strawberry float off.

Let me axe you this - do people really say arks? I've heard axe, which sounds stupid, but arks? :fp:

It's a little unfair of you if you're referring to Afro-Caribbean people who say it that way.

Not really. Why should we let someone off just because of the colour of their skin?

I have and always will call Blast Corps. "Blast Corpse", even though when talking about the army I always say it properly.

Hegemony was one that always had me head scratching earlier in my life.

Same. Think it's 'cause when I first saw the title 'Blast Corps', I was young and didn't realise that you pronounced 'Corps' like 'Corpse'.

I still tend to fail to distinguish the pronunciation differences between "three" and "tree".

How can you not? One starts with a 'Th' and the other starts with a 'Tr'.

You're as bad as these people who say fink or fought instead of think and thought. :x

When I was pretty damn young, I remember being confused by the written word "apply". Thanks to phonetics, I thought it something to do with apples.
