Don't know if this is a regional thing but another one of my friends says he's instead of his. Like, they're not even he's kids or that pizza's he's

The regional thing that really pisses me off is how Geordies say "us" when they actually mean I or me. You're not the strawberry floating Borg, Geordies!

I'm not going anywhere near that thread until I've caught up! :D But I can tell you here: IT'S strawberry floating INCREDIBLE. I'm up to the end of Season 2 Episode 5 and plan to absolutely hammer it at the weekend.

I'm sure I read somewhere that it stems from our Anglo-Saxon roots, particularly early Norwegian and Danish.

I do that, but I'm from the North West. It's a bit like the majestic plural I suppose or the Rastafari "I and I". Probably too metaphysical for a simple southerner to understand.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Anyway, it's hardly limited to the North. "Give us a kiss", for example.

My American friend singled "us" out as the oddest thing to his Yankee ears when we first met. He genuinely thought I was living with a partner I never let out of the house when I asked him to "give us a ring."

Not things I do myself, but that annoy me:

The Bristol habit of adding an l to the end of words
"oh, that's a good ideal"
"just popping to Asdal" :x

And people who say excape. What the strawberry float.

I have a mate called 'Dave', but I often call him 'Steve'.

I don't know why.

I knew a guy called Richard. I forgot his name once and another mate prompted me by saying "Rhymes with pilchard". And that is how Pilchards are born.

I've always put it down to some kind of mild dyslexia. Somehow the bit of my brain that remembers Steve Davis is causing interference patterns.

For a long time Dave thought I was doing it on purpose as some kind of shitty long running joke.

Epitome. Used to think it was eh-pi-tome.

I ALWAYS get Arkansas wrong, and read it as it looks.
