Yeah, most of those places end up being a place you can go in for a quick coffee and also be able to pick up a quick jacket, mop or stereo sound system.

Douwe Egberts, Dark Roast at the moment although I have 8 different types of coffee in the house at the moment.

I drink PG tips.

However, I buy my coffee beans from Whitards. Freeze them, and only grind them when I want a coffee.

The extra effort is worth it.

Get a Nespresso machine instead. Believe me, it's lots better!

I have a Dolce Gusto and I hardly ever use it (it doesn't even count in my list of coffee's). It's not terrible it's just nowhere near as good as I hoped it would be.

well, I don't have that exact one, I think mine is a Lavazza one. I stole it from my Italian housemate when he left, but I know it makes some good stuff!

I have a standard bialetti pot and a mukka..

They try to make the milk foamy, but it's not brilliant.

I don't get coffee. I want to like it, but it just tastes awful to me. Far too bitter.

A medium roast columbian with a drop of milk shouldn't taste bitter.

Perhaps. Maybe I should go somewhere and try a really nice coffee (or one that's supposed to be nice, at least).

If you just want to taste coffee, any of the well known coffee shops should be able to provide a standard cup of coffee with no milk, foam, syrups and other crap they put on top.

Just get a black coffee, and add a touch of milk which they provide.

I would suggest that independant coffee houses can tell you more about the coffee beans. But sadly they are few and far between.

Are they the pod based coffee machines?

Yes, they make tiny amounts from a single pod and would make any environmentalists in the family go mental due to the massive waste in packaging.
