You think Burger King is the height of culinary experience so please do not talk to me about tea.

Anyone know what the best instant coffee is? Before you get on me for not using the proper stuff, I just want a nice sort for work where I don't want to be seen as wasting time with a cafetiere or such.

I liked Douwe Egberts (sp?). The really dark one.

If I'm having an instant coffee I'll tend to use those espresso powder ones, rather than the usual granules you find. Can't think of the proper term for them.
Before I had that I'd go for Douwe Egberts.

Actually, it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. It's actually quite drinkable, I'm on my second box of the stuff already. I think given their frankly unbelievable range of green teas, they were bound to have some kind of transferable skills when it came to other blends.

Then they got cocky and tried their hand at coffee.

:dread:

EDIT; If anything, it's their milk that's the problem. Their milk is far creamier than ours and it's that that affects the taste more negatively than the blend in my opinion. But as I said, it's not bad by any stretch, it's perfectly quaffable. And my lack of kettle means I'm drinking all my hot drinks by the saucepan which is remarkably convenient.

Shitloads of Roibus.

I found the English breakfast (as they call it over there) to be horrible in Japan. Was pretty much drinking coffee the entire time I was there.

That sounds lovely. Where from?

Been drinking a fair but of Earl Grey at work, recently. Good gooseberry fool. Breakfast tea is actually so boring. It's kinda criminal how Earl Grey gets so widely overlooked.

Whittards. Mine's part of a selection pack, but I'd be surprised if you can't buy it by itself.

As for other teas, I generally don't drink English breakfast. Doesn't taste that great, and people put far too much milk in for my liking. Earl Grey's good, and check out Lady Grey too if you get the chance jam.

EDIT: here you go: http://www.whittard.co.uk/search?searchterm=pomegranate I've got the teabags.

If anyone is looking for a nice Earl Grey, this is the nicest brand I've ever had - I got some for Christmas and I'll definitely be getting some more:

I've got back into green tea as well, I bought Clipper bags today and they seem a lot nicer than Twinings.

Lets bump dis gooseberry fool.

Looking for a coffee machine to treat myself to. I've wanted the DeLonghi Icona for a while, mostly because it looks good and matches the rest of my red kitchen. The other day I was using an Nespresso with the Aeroccino milk frother. Mind. Blown. Sooooo much better than just steamed milk. Downside is, Nespresso pods are sorta expensive compared to a pack of ground stuff. The machines I want both cost about the same. I'd prefer the Aeroccino over the steamer stick on the Icona but not sure if the price, accessibility and variety of regular ground coffee would be better than pods. The pods are simple and less messy mind, which could be great for mornings when I'm in a rush and too lazy to wash up.

Anyone got a pod machine? My usual order is espresso or hazelnut latte, and steamed/frothed milk to make hot chocolate for Anung. Advice on which would do a better job?
