:datass: has left Sky Sports F1.

Sounds like she's off to BT Sport to present the tennis.

Ohh, so that's why she wasn't on The F1 Show yesterday. No loss, though she did seen to get on with Ted quite well.

The beginning of the end for the Sky Sports F1 channel:

In addition there are changes to who can or cannot view the F1 Channel. If you already subscribe to the HD Pack, then you will be unaffected. Any new customers will need to subscribe to the Sky Sports Pack.

http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-rumo ... -soon.html

I'm predicting that the F1 channel will be scrapped in favor of a new motorsport channel. If you want to view the 2014 season then everybody will have to subscribe to the more expensive sports package. Sky are also in talks to secure the WRC rights.

Sutil confirmed for the Barcelona test. Disgusting.

Hopefully Force India won't be around for too long seeing as both owners are knee deep in the brown stuff with the Indian authorities.

We get the full sports package anyway so aren't affected.

The f1 channel is complete overkill though, reruns of crap old races and Steve Rider bumping up his pension.

That's interesting. Sky was never going to have a huge impact on F1 globally - F1's too powerful, too well-established. Pricing structures and coverage quality aside, Sky has made no difference to the sport.

However, you could imagine Sky doing something good with the WRC. The sport has been on its knees for years, the Loeb domination hasn't helped at all, TBH. Maybe fresh broadcasting money could give the sport a boost.

Maybe the WRC could be added in to create a motorsport channel. On second thoughts, I bet an branded F1 channel was what helped secure the contract.

Anyone seen Alonso's comments from yesterday after the first day in Barca? He was saying that at the end of last season Ferrari were at the same level as Force India and behind Sauber and Lotus....

The guy is full of gooseberry fool.

I really, really want Massa to beat him this season. If he carries on his form from the end the last season, he can. I'm not sure if Alonso and Ferrari would let that happen though.
