Gary Anderson:

That order has some big surprises in it - the quickest cars appear to be those of McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes, with Lotus not far behind. And Red Bull - the world champions for the last three years - look relatively slow. Let me explain how we get there...

Well worth a read.

I refuse to believe Red Bull won't be right at the front. I also can't see Mercedes being that quick.

So many more parts to bring for all teams though, not just for the next test but to Melbourne too. Besides, for example, Kimi wasn't even that happy with his setup, so there are gains to be had there.

They do this every year and it doesn't mean diddly squat. I ignore all the test results.

The testing results are total nonsense for the most part. You can get a general picture of who may have an ok car, but the pecking order can't be determined until qualy in Oz.

Didn't Mercedes end the last test last year on top and then end up in their usual mid-field grid slots. Red Bull, Mclaren and Ferrari rarely ever show their full hand in testing.

Article is a load of fluff.

McLaren/Redbull will be the fastest cars over the season. Next will be Ferrari/Lotus> Toro Rosso> Mercedes/Sauber/Force India/Williams>>>> Caterham/Marussia

Anyone who doesn't think Red Bull are going to walk it again are on crack. This is a team who endlessly push the boundaries of the rules for performance gains rather than follow the standard development path the others seem to and I see this year being no different.

They came on strong last year as soon as they'd managed to bend the rules with the exhaust blowing again, which was supposed to be banned with mandatory exit angles, but no there it is pointing at the floor again.

I thought it was that it had to have a visible exit but angle was still up for interpretation.

But as you say Red Bull will ply this year and all the battling will be for 2nd, 3rd and 4th etc.

With Anderson spreading gooseberry fool about Red Bull being slow, might be a good time to look at the odds for them to storm it again. I'll look into it.

At first glance, Red Bull are evens to win the constructors. There aren't many investments in 2013 that will almost certainly double your money...

You can also get 6/5 on Hamilton not to win a race, which I think looks like a decent price. You can also get a whopping 16/9 on Vettel to win the championship, which seems like insane value. Like buying money.

Its supposed to be something like a predefined exit heigh and angle, with no bodywork within a certain cone radius, but now you've got it where almost all of the teams have the bodywork right up with it so the gasses flow down to the diffuser. I don't understand why the rules dont just say it has to stick up and out of a mandatory and standard periscope pipe set behind the rear wing and be done with it (like the setup ferrari had when they invented it in the late 90s).

He got in Kimi's way when he was trying to regain control on the slope down to the swimming pool section in Monaco in 2008 and ended his race. banana split.

IIRC he tried to glass someone (in the neck) in a nightclub when he was out with a load of F1 dudes, including Hamilton and McLaren folk.
