Its alright, I dole out enough gooseberry fool to other people on here so I can take it :datass:

Must be really strange going form one team to another. Hamliton saying how even the terminology they use is totally different.

No more "YO SUP BE-ATCH COMIN' IN DA PITS FASTER THAN IMMA GO UP YO MOMMA" :(

It'll be weird (and therefore interesting) all round. McLaren have built their entire strategy over the past decade or so on Lewis coming through and being a success. It was equally weird seeing Perez in those McLaren shots (and I bet Ferrari feel the same).

I'm excited about the season - just really hope, as usual, that Vettel doesn't run off with it, but I fear this could be his easiest Championship win so far. :fp:

I see Dblock has transcended Mercedes at long last.

I hope Perez does well to show Ferrari up.

And yeah I like Red Bull and don't mind them winning, but it would be nice for it to be a close one again. But I too suspect they will dominate.

I'd really love Webbo to have a serious shot at the championship this year. Seems unlikely though.

It would be nice. It very odd that he doesn't do better than he does.

I've got a horrible feeling we could see a repeat of 2011 with Vettel wrapping up the championship really early on.

Just can't see where a significnt challenge will come from. (Well, ok, I can: Alonso is the only hope, IMO, but Ferrari really need to have their early-season form nailed down).

I think this season will be: Vettel>>>Alonso>>>>>>Kimi/Webber/Button/Hamilton/Perez (in that order).

I'd love to see Kimi pressing on this year and pushing maybe Alonso - I love Lotus so much - but I can't see it.

Lotus are are showing alright pace at the moment, but as its the first day its just shakedowns and relatively meaningless timing wise.

I'd really like to see lotus up there in the mix along with a surprise from one of the others like Caterham.

So, Hamilton ran out of fuel and Rosberg's car caught fire. Cracking start Mercedes :simper:

I'm not a massive fan of the new Lotus, mind. They appear to have made the gold a lot less gold, and there is too much red on there. Stupid corporate branding guidelines :fp: (I'm aware it was branding guidelines that created the original black and gold, but still...)

Jerez Formula 1 testing: Mercedes to sit out rest of Tuesday

The Mercedes team has been forced to end its first day of 2013 Formula 1 testing early after being hit by problems in the morning.

Nico Rosberg had managed just 11 laps with the new W04 before the car stopped on track, causing the second red flag of the day.

Mercedes spent the morning trying to identify the problem and has announced that it will not be running any more on Tuesday.

"After identifying the cause of the problem, we will not be running again today whilst parts are modified ready for tomorrow," said the team.

"The part which requires modification is the wiring loom where the electrical fault originated this morning."

Rosberg's new team-mate Lewis Hamilton is scheduled to make his on-track debut with the team on Wednesday.

 Nice start for Mercedes!

I'd really like to see them do well but they seem lightyears away from Red Bull which is the form they need to win championships.

It's certainly not as attractive as last year's car but, have faith, Lotus don't need to improve that much for them to be able to genuinely fight for the title. Remember that Kimi is fully back in the groove, as shown by his excellent form in the second half of the season.

I do find it funny how people go on about how consistent Kimi was last season. He's always been consistent. Just look at the 2007 season. He won because he was the most consistent driver.

Martin Whitmarsh on Radio 5 this morning, confirming that Button and Perez will be treated as equals as that remains the team policy.

Obvs if one of them is in with a shout later on in the season and the other is adrift, I'm sure that'll change, but it's nice to hear Perez has been brought in to race, not to support Button.

I really, really hope Lotus do something this year - I think the team could take 2nd in the Constructors, but that's reliant on Grosjean having his head screwed on this time around.

Despite all the grief he gets, I still quite like Lewis and want him to do well. The swing of emotions when he won on that final lap in 2008 was one of the best things I've seen in sport.

But still, I will almost certainly spend most of this season wondering what the hell he was thinking going there. It's early days yet, though - this is what the practices are for, but the drivers that haven't moved teams will instantly have a huge advantage.

I thought you were refering to yesterday, then I read the link :fp:

LOLIS HAMILOL

I loved lewis when he arrived in the sport, and still think he's a brilliant driver, one of the best, if not the best pure racer out there. When he's behind someone, you know he's going to have a go :datass:

But yeah, cracking start for him then :dread:
