Hilarious editing in episode 3, Ian Poulter's going on about having to seriously consider signing up to LIV because he needs to look after his family while footage plays of him flying in a private jet and at his mansion where he's got a walk-in wardrobe which looks like a clothing store.

Yup thought it was decent enough. Don't know why they didn't go full in on the LIV golfers being a bunch of twats. Though McIlroy went closest in the last episode.

It's a great watch, I think I'm up to episode 6 (last one was about Matt Fitzpatrick and Dustin Johnson). Poulter came across as a bit of a knobhead which is par for the course (boom boom!) for him, and it's so obvious he's gone to LIV because his powers are on the wane and he can't make the same money in the PGA anymore.

I haven't watched Drive to Survive at all but I'll definitely be checking it out off the back of Full Swing.

edit: Hey Kanbei, nice to see you!

They've got a Tennis one too which could have also been called Drive to Serve-ive. But wasn't. Full Swing is better than the tennis show from what I've seen.

Access. You criticise too much and they won't give you any time for season 2.

It's an issue Drive to Survive had to deal with and it's the same production company doing all these shows.

Yep, total bellend.

Yeah Max Verstappen didn't appear in season four at all outside of races and general footage. They had no interviews with him. He claimed it was because they were making stuff up (Rivalries and fueds) that didn't exist.

But then Verstappen throws his toys out the pram anytime anyone questions the narrative him and Red Bull put out. As seen when they refused to talk to Sky for a few weeks last year because Ted Kravitz made a (factual) throwaway remake about there always being some controversy when Verstappen won his titles.

The Ted Kravitz thing made it really obvious but my sister worked on it for four seasons so I can tell you the exact reason why Verstappen boycotted the show:

Drive to Survive season 1 showed footage of Verstappen shoving Ocon against a wall after they crashed in the Brazillian grand prix. That was it. Everything about Verstappen claiming it was a lack of journalistic integrity was bullshit. He and his management are ridiculously thin skinned.

Great win for John Rahm. Fully deserved. Top bloke despite the fact he sold those jews hiding under his floorboards down the river in Inglorious Basterds.

Very pleased for the lad. He played superbly.

I'm satisfied that none of the LIV players won.

Watching The Masters used to be a ritual every year, so it's a shame the BBC couldn't be arsed showing it, even though they were offered the highlights. Yet another sporting event that's become more difficult and expensive to watch.

Pleased none of the LIV guys won it.

Was it an affordability issue or they actually couldn't be bothered?

Wow. Feels like this has come out of nowhere? Were there any rumours of this happening?

It's like they didn't even try to stop/compete against it.

Seismic for the sport, wonder what the very vocal anti-LIV players on the PGA Tour will make of this.

I guess it depends whether they can hear the news whilst swimming in all that bloodstained cash.

I don't really follow golf but obviously know about this story as it's been so big over the last year. Today's announcement has got the same vibes as the end of an episode of Smackdown or Raw: Vince McMahon drags a replacement ref out of the ring to screw over the face wrestler and then walks up the ramp with the heel as the show fades out. All the golfers who rejected the cash must be raging - it doesn't sound like players were consulted at all.

There's obvious parallels with the ESL saga in football - to make football's governing bodies look superior to your own in dealing with a crisis is perhaps the most damning indictment that can be given! It's worrying for human rights and for all sports that the Saudis seem to have succeeded in their sportswashing goal. Putting aside the moral that enough money makes your problems go away; this will embolden any bad actors planning ESL2 or the equivalents in other sports (tennis always strikes me as having a very similar system to golf, with tours and ranking points and opens/slams).

It reads less like a merger and more like a coup to me.
