Did anyone else see Steve Coogan getting booted off the Comedy Awards during his acceptance speech because Channel 4 ran out of time (for a repeat of Gogglebox at that!)? In an ironic way, it was a classic Alan Partridge style moment of sheer incompetence.

Must admit I'm very disappointed by this Derren Brown art thing this evening. I know his recent output has been pretty poor but I thought this looked to be a return to form but so far it's just bollocks, asking you to totally buy into one thing while entirely ignoring a whole host of inconsistencies that just make the whole thing fall down and seem an entire setup on the audience. The whole concept is stupid as well as with an entire tv crew at your disposal it's probably not that difficult to steal a painting from a temporary gallery with one security guard and nobody watching security cameras.

Pretending they got away with this masterful heist at the end was just :fp:

I only caught the last 15 minutes, but when the security guard said he had put the painting back "like i was told" it was obvious that he was doing whatever the TV crew wanted. Same with the guy watching the screens with Derren, he was 'fooled' because they asked him to do a soundcheck once he thought things had finished. If they hadn't been filming a TV show then this would never have worked.

Anyone catch the season two finale of Ripper Street this evening? Absolutely cracking TV - some of the character progression this season has been top notch.

Really gutted that the BBC have cancelled it, fingers crossed LoveFilm pick it up.

Recently watched Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes, thought they were awesome. Kinda disappoint ed by the ending of AtA. Thought LoM ending was great though.

Did anyone watch the David Blaine thing on C4 last night Real or Magic

It was absolutely incredible, one of the best magic shows I've ever seen.

Didn't watch it as I couldn't really be bothered with him these days but you've spiked my interest. Hopefully they put it on 4OD.

Regardless of what you think of his stunts or persona his magic was always awesome.

I think I was burnt by later Blaine stuff but I really enjoyed his early work. Looking forward to seeing this though.

The Bridge (Swedish/Danish version) season 2 starts on BBC4 on Saturday with a double episode.

It was alright, but mostly consisted of him stabbing himself with stuff rather than actual magic tricks.

Watched that James May Toy Stories where he rode a meccano motorcycle with sidecar on the ManxTT route. I was impressed with how well it held up overall

Really enjoyed it too :D

It was a really impressive build, especially the motor system. They did really well considering the problems they encountered. Genius bringing Oz Clarke along until he dumped him for extra speed though he didn't seem to mind as he got to go drinking and explore eateries:lol:

Why did nobody tell me this show exists?

I was randomly searching for locked room mysteries last night and saw this on wikipedia:
Death in Paradise, TV series in which almost every episode featured an 'impossible' crime (many of them locked room mysteries).

Then I watched four episodes in a row!

It's no Jonathan Creek, but it'll do.

This is old-ish but have you guys started watching season 3? Massive, massive spoilers in the box. Don't open the spoilers box unless you want the megaton in the first episode ruined...

I did not see them killing off Ben Miller   I physically gasped at iPlayer. Be interesting to see where this goes with Nick from My Family in it...

Anyone else fancy the look of this? I saw it earlier on a Youtube ad - usually the five seconds before I can skip to the video is all the mindspace such advertising occupies, but this actually piqued my interest. Comedy drama about the London police, by the chaps behind Peep Show and Fresh Meat. I get a Thick of It vibe from the trailer too, which is encouraging.

Did anyone see that Winter Olympics après-ski (ehhhhhhh?) program tonight (hosted by Alan Davies; hence me posting this in here)?

My word, it was gooseberry fool. Bill Bailey was obviously good but most of the jokes were so crap.

And that snowboarding woman is so blokey. :dread:

I watched the first episode of it on the opening day and couldn't get over halfway through because of the utter shiteness of it. Haven't bothered trying any of the more recent ones. First thing I've seen Alan Davies do that I've really disliked.
