I did meet a retired pilot of a refuelling plane when I was on vacation in Florida, I had gone to see the Space shuttle launch, and he told me two important things that made me glad I didn't go through with joining up.

1) He had PTSD as he served in the first gulf war and seeing that whole highway of death thing messed him up.
2) He told me every fighter pilot he's ever known has thrown up after riding the tea cups in Disney world, I did not so I probably could not have cut it as a pilot
