Not in a main event feud
Rumble was in Orton's home town
Jericho hype videos and obvious potential with a Jericho feud.
Was eliminated by HORNSWOGGLE in a battle royal ffs

Up and coming new star Sheamus, former WWE champion and King of the Ring.

Sheamus was never over with that stuff and getting over as a main event level face is so much more difficult. Yeah he's not a clear new main eventer like Ziggler but Dolph is well on his way and last night wont hurt him in the long run if he gets a good showing at EC.

There's a weird hypocrisy to the reaction this is getting because if Orton had won people would be crying and if Jericho had won I guarantee there would have been a few wondering why they didn't pull the trigger on Sheamus, Barrett or Ziggler. Wouldn't be much of a bad reaction though.

With hindsight I think the best way to book the event would have been Ziggler winning the title then Punk ploughing through the Rumble to win it. As mentioned on the LAW. Ziggler would then drop the title to Jericho at EC. That would have been the best way to please everyone imo

Hey, it's like everyone is saying what I was too tired to put across last night. Good job, guys. I mean Sheamus, really? How did Jericho not win given the weeks/months of promos? Why have him go out for the last few Mondays and say bugger all until the final Raw before the Rumble?

GG WWE.

This Jericho storyline still isn't making any sense. The videos beared no correlation to him at all, he spends weeks not speaking & being overtly cheesy, walks out on a tag team match, & then when he finally does say something on the Highlight Reel, he states it would be 'the end of the world' at the Rumble, which again didn't play into proceedings at all. He played the Rumble match completely straight, only to then get eliminated.

A whole month has passed & there's no logic to anything.

I think at that point he was scheduled to win it, to be honest. You know what they are like with changing plans at the last minute.

I think the worst thing is not necessarily that Sheamus won but that their motive seems to be that they did it mainly to not be predictable and to swerve the internet.

Jericho is going to have to do/say something pretty impactful tonight.

If my calculations are correct for the sake of Grapl.

The Miz was longest entrant

Epico was the shortest entrant

Cody Rhodes has the most eliminations wiht 5.

I agreed with what they said on LAW that this is an event that will only be as memorable as its pay-off. How the move on over the next few weeks will be key.

You can't argue that a Sheamus win is a total swerve though.

Swerve: Verb: Change or cause to change direction abruptly

The build-up for Jericho along with his promo on Monday showed us that WWE was going in the direction of Jericho winning the Rumble.

Then again, Sheamus is loved by HHH.

According to my calculations

Wade Barrett lasted longest in the Rumble and also had the most eliminations

Mick Foley entered at number 12

...and Diamond Dallas Page entered at number 30.

Scariest moment was Skippy announcing that number 14 is the cursed number, with most entries being doomed to obscurity. Cue Jinder Mahal.

Properly lost my gooseberry fool when I saw Ricardo in that car.
