I can seriously see WWE holding the Backlash P.P.V in the U.K very soon it would make sense seeing as how there over here a week or so before the event usually they could hold the P.P.V then have the Wrestlemania Revenge tour the week after

And just like WCW, they practically never deliver in the Main Event (second month in a row a Sting match has stunk the joint out on Pay Per View). One thing you can say about the WWE over the years, is that their Main Events (usually) have either had bucket loads of atmosphere or been fantastic matches. It probably helps that, in recent years, they've had 'double headers' too. If one sucks, the other saves the day.

There were 2 main headliners, Sting/Foley and 8-man 'Lethal Lockdown'. Sting/Foley match wasn't brilliant but in no way did it suck and Lethal Lockdown more than made that PPV

TNA Originals all went over, clean. But you know I guess people are going to maon about that too

Foley is a good 6 years - at least - past championship material. It's like giving the belt to Kevin Nash!

Eh? Last year I remember people saying give Flair one last title shot and he was like 10 years too long in the run. Foley has only been 3 time World Champ and if this is his finally run i'm more than happy he is champ for now. Who know's, this may be pushing for one of the originals to get a major push by beating Foley

Wow, I'm glad I didn't bother staying up. Shame that the big reveal was such a let down really, because what I saw on the night of the product overall was quite entertaining.

Are you talking about Lashley? Flippin' heck, NO ONE saw this coming and you was let down. I was never the guy's biggest fan but I was shocked when he showed up as I thought he was doing MMA. Seriously, WWE has ruined some of you guys. Genuine suprise, big push coming off a PPV (Lashley and Foley winning belt) and yet TNA are still in the gutter according to some of you guys. Got real talent coming in like Paul London & Amazing Red and that is STILL not enough. TNA's roster is looking hella strong lately and seeing that absolute no change from Wrestlemania, no suprises, WWE is in a stale state but still watch

If people watch Lockdown, and still say they thought it was gooseberry fool then so be it but TNA is an exciting prospect right now

Are you talking about Lashley?

Yes, I am indeed talking about The Generic Black Man™.

F-Heonix wrote:Flippin' heck, NO ONE saw this coming and you was let down.

It's Lashley. This isn't like Hogan at Bash of the Beach.

F-Heonix wrote:I was never the guy's biggest fan but I was shocked when he showed up as I thought he was doing MMA.

Shocked? No. Surprised... yes. As to why they'd hire someone genuinely devoid of talent when their company is full of it.

They were surprises, but not in the good way. Foley is physically past it to be a world champion, don't get me wrong - I've all the respect in the world for the guy - but he is past it in terms of actual wrestling.

Also, I never said TNA was in the gutter. If you read my post, I said that I was really enjoying the event and was entertained from what I saw.

I'm a big Foley fan, read all books including the original novels, and he seems like a cracking guy. A really nice fella.

But I have never, ever watched a wrestling match before and thought "this guy shouldn't be in the ring" in any serious capacity like I did with Foley the other night. I honestly have no idea how he could handle another bout.
His whole shtick was taking bumps, big bumps, because he's never actually been that good of a wrestler. But he can't even take a decent thud now because of the bazillion injuries he's got and the really serious damage he'd do if he did.

I'm all for having Foley at TNA, though because he's one of the best story builders and mic workers out there but maybe not as a month-in/month-out active wrestler.

Enjoyed Raw this and it seems every week Santino is the best thing on the show. He is also very funny at live house shows as i found out on Sunday.

This having him in the commissioner/boss type role is great, it worked brilliantly when he had the same role in the WWE and it was doing just as well in TNA, but putting the belt on him is an idiotic decision, the man can not work anymore and if someone turned into TNA at this PPV and saw Foley as the new champion after watching all the great workers who'd been on before him they'd be wondering what sort of a strawberry floated up wrestling company this was. Don't get me wrong in terms of storylines and such TNA has been better than WWE for a change, but the decision to have Foley carry the company as champion is pure baffling.

Also Lashley, yes it was a surprise, but in terms of making me want to watch TNA it's put me off, I don't want him to be pushed down our throats like he was in the WWE, but he will be and will no doubt have won the belt by this time next year, whilst guys like Daniels, Joe and AJ, who are superior to Lashley in every way, bar physique, will be floundering around the mid-card putting people like Steiner and Kevin Nash over.

 You do realise this wasn't all aimed at you, right?

As for Foley being champ, it won't be a long run. It's a way to say thanks for coming to TNA and here's one last moment in the sun. It will never happen but say Christopher Daniels put his name out there and challenege Foley for the title. Handled correctly it could be a big boost for someone

I'm still up in the air about Lashley. Can't say I saw alot of his work but him coming off of MMA I kinda have a bit more respect for the guy. Maybe it'll give him a bit more of a mean streak.

He also has an amateur wrestling background, am I correct? Lashley/Angle - could be a good match up

Er, yes, and you responded to me with this:

And I responded to each of your points in turn. Glad we've cleared that up.

And surprise, surprise, I agree with bork and Ginga. Lashley is such a put off.

Agreed, i'm also convinced that they cut some of the Santino chants from the crowd at RAW this week. There were a hell of a lot and they were really loud yet that didn't come across on tv.

I also find the whole cena thing very strange, he was being really booed yet when he did his you can't see me thing before dropping the fist on jerricho almost everyone in the crowd shouted "you can't see me". Very strange.

5 matches into Lockdown, I'm currently suffering Cage fatigue. One thing that is rather evident is how quiet the Philadelphia crowd are. They haven't really been interested in anything yet. The high spots get a mild response - Stevie Richards' arrival (who Mike Tennay seemed completely shocked by for some strange reason) has so far garnered the biggest reception, specifically an "ECW" chant.

On the subject of TNA bringing in The Generic Black Man™, or Bobby Lindsey if you're Donald Trump - a surprise, yes - but nobody gave a toss about this bloke in WWE. Useless on the microphone, no personality at all...so incredibly dull, you can barely remember he was in the Hair Vs Hair match at 'Mania 23. Last I remember he was tearing the skirt off Lilian Garcia.

He is such a dour little banana split, isn't he? I have a firm belief that expression is constantly on his face.
Well sometimes he cracks into what could be considered a smile on pay day. But that's it.
