I actually thought that was going to be in for Cena :o Del Rio wasted all that energy for nothing

Not sure which way this match is going to go to be honest...generally when Cena takes beatings in these sorts of matches he comes back with one huge move that just ends it..

Bleh. Loved the fan trying to help Del Rio up at the end though.

When was the last time a PPV had a main event where no-one came down to ringside though?

You don't see too many original things in wrestling any more (as evidenced by the end of the Show/Henry match), but the environment in which they created for the main event was something a bit different & unique. It was pretty much your conventional Attitude era style match otherwise (funny how they bring that back after TNA did a whole load of stuff at Bound for Glory, isn't it...).

I really enjoyed it though. I thought the match was really good, & I'm glad Cena ultimately didn't win it, even if it was after yet more interference.

Before the start of Vengeance i did not think the Mark Henry/Big Show match would provide the highlight of the night. It's just a shame we kinda noticed something was up with the ring before it happened because it took some of the wow factor away from it.

Not sure why Awesome Truth did what they did though. Their whole conspiracy talk start with Cena so i dunno maybe they wanted to make him the focus of their attention again. Pretty good match though. I used to love it back in the day when matches spilled backstage.

So it'll be Rock/Cena/HHH/Punk/(maybe HBK?) Vs. Nash/Miz/Truth/Del Rio/(and some other jabroni) at SS then?

I think people just mark out for his surprise RKO's and gloss over his in-ring shortcomings.

All through the year.

I know you hate the guy but I find it amazing you can't adknowledge that he's probably been the best guy in the ring behind Punk this year. But hey...

I'd give that honour to Christian or Sheamus myself.

Orton's not completely gooseberry fool in the ring, but he just sucks so much excitement out of his matches and the less said about those Voldo-esque mannerisms the better. Many of the issues people have with Cena can be applied to Orton too.

And I don't want to start this debate again. I just can't enjoy any of his matches bar a few of the old Legend Killer matches with 'Taker and HBK.

They could of made the ring collapse at least look a little different to last time :fp:

I watched until Orton came out.

The Miz Truth/Punk HHH match was absolute garbage. The Miz and Truth pre-match promo was one of the worst I've heard in ages - what did it have to do with anything? All four strawberry floated up some basic spots in the match and even the hot tags fell flat. Kevin Nash's sheer drop Jackknife was just the icing on a gooseberry fool cake. Hopefully Hunter isn't injured after that.

I loved that figure four choke and armbar combo (I have no idea what it's called) in the Diva's match. I'd go as far to say it was the best match I saw last night.

Not good, but I hear ADR Cena is really quite something.

I bet WWE will now act like Lesnar/Show never happened and will just use Henry/Show

They could have atleast changed it slightly  , the entire thing was a mirror image of what happened with Lesnar, even the ref was in the same spot bouncing around like an idiot.

Would anyone mind giving me a quick run down of what happened at vengeance. I'm at work and probably won't get to watch it before raw. WWE.com won't load for some reason and I don't trust other wrestling sites on my phone.

I've read through some of thr thread but its actually pretty hard to work out all the results and what happened.
Thanks.

They copied it to the point they had Michael Cole run through the whole "the ring imploded" speal.

At least Jerry Lawler acknowledged that it had happened before, albeit through slightly gritted teeth.

Being in HD this time, you could see just how rigged the ring actually was in its collapsed state though.

Quick Results from Vengeance

Air Boom defeated Ziggler & Swagger.
Ziggler defeated Zack Ryder.
Beth Pheonix defeated Eve
Sheamus defeated Christian.
Miz & R-Truth defeated Triple H & CM Punk when Kevin Nash ran in. He then powerbombed HHH after the match.
Randy Orton defeated Rhodes with the RKO.
Mark Henry & Big Show went to a No Contest when the ring collapsed following a superplex off the second rope (identical to Lesnar/Big Show on SmackDown)

In a broken ring, Del Rio defeated John Cena when Miz & Truth ran in and beat up Cena.

I didn't realise Cena and ADR fought in the broken ring

I always wanted WWE to do that. I'm going to watch it now, hopefully it's more than just a really cool visual.

Beth & her Molly Holly drawers do absolutely nothing for me whatsoever. CM Punk went from Maria to Beth Pheonix. I call that a downgrade of epic proportions.

On hindsight it was a decent by-the-numbers transitional PPV.

UK Ratings for the week ending 16th October...

IMPACT WRESTLING garnered an impressive 194,000 on Sunday night; 148,000 watched WWE RAW Live, with 37,000 tuning in to the Thursday repeat; WWE SmackDown on Friday pulled in 102,000, with 27,000 watching the Saturday night repeat; and 40,000 hardcore fanatics watched WWE NXT.

The WWE writing team wanted to break the English speaking announce table in Mexico City thinking it would be ironically funny, but were overruled.

Great figures for TNA... still they give the UK viewers no chance to watch their PPVs.
