I still can't believe 1) they didn't strawberry float it up and 2) how absolutely brilliant it was. Of course I had faith in Punk and Cena has usually stepped up to the plate under pressure like that (ECW ONS, WM22). They put on a really good match though, quality storytelling, plenty of new moves from both men. Top selling from Punk and decent selling from Cena. The ending was genuinely booked to perfection as well. That was a classic. A genuine, history-making classic and I look forward to watching it again very shortly.

Punk is the next top face. If they keep this booking up we will have the generation-defining successor to Hogan, Austin and Cena.

It's quite incredible really, Vince McMahon has agreed to book a wrestler specifically so he's bigger than the company itself. Austin and Hogan became bigger than the company due to their booking, Punk has said things nobody has ever said and now, assuming he leaves for a while, done something no one else has done.

Ok, having had a quick glance at the results, I need to see this. Will be the first WWE PPV I've watched since Mania 24.

Anyone with far better photohop skills want to make a celebratory Punk logo?

Anyone have any decent links to either downloads or video streams?

I've check Jam's suggestions and his main suggestion won't allow new people to join and the other hasn't got any links up yet. There's none on dailymotion yet and youtube only seems to have random matches or the ones that have added the whole event have had part of them taken down for copy right reasons.

I'm watching the Cena V Punk match now though on youtube but would appreciate the rest of the event.

Could someone PM me a download link when one becomes available? My apologies if there is one already, but I don't want to run into spoilers.

Just watched Punk-Cena fantastic match. For anyone who wants to see just that, Hype starts here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xjyuvk ... 8-hq_sport
The match has barely started by here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xjyv20 ... 9-hq_sport
And the final part is here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xjyv61 ... 0-hq_sport

And here's the first part of the whole PPV: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xjys9d ... 1-hq_sport

PUNK! Well done both men, they put on a great show. It was interesting hearing the contrast between the deep voiced Punk fans and the relatively high pitched Cena fans

According to several sources who were backstage at Sunday's WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view, the WWE locker room was not told about the finish to the John Cena vs. CM Punk main event match in advnace - but according to one wrestler backstage “it was a total sellout at the monitor!”

We were told, “Even the producers (formerly agents) were sitting on the edge of their seats, which is why Vince McMahon only had John Laurinaitis go out to the ring with him. He didn’t want anyone else to know the finish of the match.”

According to another source, Alberto Del Rio was briefed personally by Vince once Punk and Cena were already in the ring.

Quoted for the new page.

I'd love it if Bryan Danielson is somehow allowed to cash in his Money in The Bank for the WWE title instead of the World Heavyweight at an ROH show. But of a dream though really. I fully expect Bryan to be the first (I think?) MITB winner to not win the title.

The one let down about last night... the strawberry floating commentary.

Something needs to change, and quick.

I still can't get over the crowd - they turned what was actually a decent match (Cena has never wrestled better in his entire life) to something truly special.

Why oh why could they not have got Jim Ross to commentate.

Wrestler reactions of Twitter

Kevin Nash: "MITB better than any mma ppv I've watched. Punk continues to gain my respect and Jay is the F**KIN man,WWE at it's best"

Mick Foley: "I don't think I've ever been jealous of a wrestler's character before. Money, yes, character, no. @cmpunk has changed that. Damn. Damn!"

Steve Austin: "@CMPunk and @JohnCena had a big time pro wrestling match. I loved it. And I loved the finish. Congrats to both guys. Great stuff."

"WOW!!! What a Tremendous reception for @CMPunk! That was a 10 out of 10. Hell Yeah!"

Trish Stratus: "What's so wrong w/ leaving the company as champion, right @wweuniverse? Hehe! Great match-the 'to be continued' is what's got me #mustseetv"

Sean Waltman: "That was f**king unbelievable. Glad I decided on a later flight in order to see that. Hats off to both guys and to WWE for doing it right. Now I can get on my flight a happy man. Thanks @CMPunk and @JohnCena . Thanks to Chicago for making that so electric. Best bldg in world."

Seth Rollins: "We're still a wrestling company and that was how professional wrestling is done."

Joey Styles: "I can't believe this. Our WWE Champion doesn't work for WWE and John Cena is or will be fired. OMG! Holy Crap!"

I wonder how many weeks of TV John Cena will miss? I'm guessing none.
