Why are WWE still allowed to use Hogan in their games? What's to stop them just putting in guys like Sting and Angle if they can use Hogan?

If the general wrestling is better than the gooseberry fool in Slowdown vs Raw, then I'll put up with the over-the-top finishers etc.

I was going to say, i was surprised to see he's in this. I read a GM preview of this and they love their wrestling games and they seemed fairly impressed with this.

Speaking of Hogan, he's had his say on the Rocks return.

TNA star Hulk Hogan recently did an interview with Peter Rosenberg of HOT 97 FM. Hogan hyped the Impact taping in Fayetteville, NC being held tonight, and had the following to say concerning The Rock's return to WWE:

"That is one of the reasons me and Vince McMahon don't get along because we disagree on wrestling theory. He's a genius. He has done a great job keeping the business alive and keeping it rolling."

When asked if there was something Hogan didn't like about Rock's return: "Yeah, yeah. There is certain ways to do things. You know, for The Rock to come out and say, we've gone from Austin 3:16 to The People's Champion to all of a sudden, you can't see me (in whiny voice). They spent so much time building John Cena up. If it was me I would have said, from the Austin era to The People's Champion era to John Cena. And I just gotta know in my heart whose the better man. There is a way to really build somebody up. You know.

All of a sudden in three or four seconds he had the whole arena screaming that Cena sucks. Sometimes I just don't understand the philosophy because John Cena is going to be there all the time. And even though The Rock said he was back, he was only back for one day. He isn't going to be there wrestling every single week like John Cena is, you know, holding it down and keeping it real. All that stuff is scripted, they have Stephanie McMahon and writers telling The Rock exactly what to say. I just didn't understand why they wanted to destroy Cena so quickly."

WWE News: Mistico's new WWE name and meaning revealed, Stephanie McMahon comments on the signing
Feb 24, 2011 - 04:50 PM

WWE issued a press release on Thursday to announce the official signing of Mistico. The press release stated that Mistico's name in WWE will be Sin Cara. "Sin Cara is a tremendous performer who brings the crowd to its feet every time he steps into the ring,” Stephanie McMahon stated in the press release. "With us, his stardom will only get bigger and brighter. You can read the release at Corporate.WWE.com.

This is the big announcement that Jim Ross was teasing on his Twitter page. Chris Shore broke out the Spanish translator and informs me that the name means "No Face" in English, which his obviously a play on the fact that he's a masked wrestler.

Apparently, this signing is a bit of a big deal. Basically the next Rey Mysterio, so fans of him such as Mafro will have a new outlet for their enthusiasm once Rey retires.

326,000 watched WWE Elimination Chamber on Sky Sports. It was number 1 on all of satellite & cable between 1 & 4am, & one of the most watched WWF/WWE PPVs in years.

103,000 watched WWE Raw Live the following evening.

For comparisons sake, 220,000 watched Night of Champions last year. Amazing what The Rock can do, isn't it...

WrestlingInc wrote:The latest on The Rock's return to WWE is that company officials want to keep his appearances 'special' and obviously don't want to overexpose him prior to WrestleMania 27. According to sources, The Rock is expected to appear on at least one more RAW broadcast prior to WrestleMania to help push the Cena-Miz match. It'll happen as we get closer to the big event.
The Rock tweeted the following after the Triple H-Undertaker confrontation on RAW: "loved seeing both Undertaker and Triple H return..what incredible crowd reactions for both..very happy for them - epic match!"

Numerous people backstage believe The Rock is extremely happy to be back in WWE after seven years. He's told people he's missed being in front of the live crowds.

The Rock's mother also stated the following last week: "I was so proud of him. It was emotional to me, as his music hit and he appeared. It was flashbacks through the past, through three generations in the business we've loved throughout. By the time he hit that ring and took that mic and I saw the goose bumps on his arms, I knew he was in it. The connection between him and the fans was incredible. Like he had never left."

If this guy is such a big deal then why pre announce his signing. Why not give him a big surprise debut?

Also on the elimination chamber tv rating, they are some impressive figures but I wonder how many of those thought the rock would have been on? Especially as only a third tuned in the following night for raw.

TNA impact taping results...

Dixie Carter came out and was interrupted by Immortal. Eric Bischoff got some mic time. He handed the mic over to Ric Flair, who brought out Hulk Hogan. Hogan said he won the court case and now has 100 percent control of the company. Fortune ran out, but security stepped in. It was pretty weak.

1. Beer Money defeated Gunner and Murphy to retain the TNA Tag Titles. Gunner and Murphy were in control of the match until Robert Roode tagged in James Storm. It was all Beer Money after that and they won clean. Ink Inc. came out afterward and challenged them to a match for the Victory Road pay-per-view. Beer Money was really over.

2. Velvet Sky defeated Sarita. Velvet won clean with a DDT. Robbie E, Cookie, and Angelina came out. Robbie E fell unintentionally while coming to the ring. Angelina said she wanted a piece of JWoww, and she took a shot at Velvet. It appears it will be Beautiful People and Winter vs. Sarita, Angelina, and Cookie in a six-Knockout tag on the second taping.

The Jeff and Karen Jarrett wedding ceremony started. Eric Young and Orlando Jordan are involved the wedding. Kurt Angle attacked Jeff Jarrett immediately. Karen Angle was supposed to go into the cake, but it appeared she messed up her spot. It was a very short segment. They are teasing that the wedding will still take place later in the show. Young was the ring bearer and wore a tuxedo t-shirt, and Orlando was the flower girl.

3. Scott Steiner beat Rob Terry. Steiner won the match with the Steiner Recliner.

4. Matt Morgan defeated Hernandez by disqualification.

The main event of the first taping is Jeff Hardy vs. a mystery opponent for the TNA Title.

They aired a 3-3-11 video. Yes, really.

5. Sting defeated Jeff Hardy to win the TNA Title. Sting wore a new outfit with red sequins and had an old school look. It was a good match, nothing too fancy. There was a big pop when Sting came out and got Hardy in the Scorpion Death Lock, but Jeff reached the ropes. Hardy was in control for a bit, but Sting took over with three Scorpion Death Drops, including one from the top rope, and scored the pin.

The final part made me :fp:

On another note, finished Undisputed. Brilliant book with a lot of laughs and great insight. Benoit chapter was very saddening though.

I doubt it will ever top the 2001 match, plus I don't really care about them anymore.

I would rather they faced fresh opponents than each other.
