Some people are far too eager to push people to the top and then complain when that happens and WWE strawberry floats it up because they realise it was too soon and don't let them go over anyone. And if Rey had won then this thread would naturally be full of people claiming they'll never watch WWE again. So apart from that, it was just a bloody good match! It was exciting and had a mix of good to great spots.
Fair point. But how stale is Edge as a champion? 10 times? What is he going to do now? He only got over as a heel because he had either Lita or Vickie by his side. As a face, no one cares. Sure, the match had some high points, the Del Rio bump was amazing, but the majority of the match was boring. The crowd being dead didn't help. Sorry, but I just don't rate Edge in the slightest. He's no better than Christian, ergo he should have as many world titles as Christian. None. (WWECW titles don't count).
You didn't mention Cena/Barrett but I thought they did the right thing, I was stupid to predict a Barrett win. The heat the match got justified it's placement at the top of the card and helped make it a great match. The crowd were into every move and the face got the win that ended the feud. The NXT/Cena feud has been going for ages and ending it last night was the best decision, and of course the face has to win. Barrett will get out of this fine and I hope - bringing in the WM27 discussion - that he goes on to face Taker, a match that I didn't think of earlier.
Apologies, the Cena/Barrett match was bread and butter. Everything I expected. I was actually expecting Punk to have some involvement though.
