The blood stoppage shite has GOT to go, it's absolutely killing matches. Punk did fantastically to salvage interest in his match with Rey with the jump on him.

I'm glad the crowd aren't standing for it either. If you want to have a no blood policy, fine - WCW had one too (which lead to the ridiculous editing of the King of the Road match at Uncensored '95 & the Flair/Hogan first blood cage match from '99 impossible to build to on TV, because they couldn't say "blood" on air) - but if someone gets cut open the hard way, which strangely seems to be happening more often now than ever before, use wide camera shots. Constantly stopping matches & killing all momentum is absurd.

When you start making 'Turner Standards & Practises' look tame, you're being ridiculous. Hell, even Striker's started using the term "International object", though that's probably Matt Striker just being an epic dork...

It totally looked like Punk just said 'f*ck this' and ran for Rey. The really annoying thing is they built up Rey/Punk as some deeply personal matter and the blood stoppage totally killed any 'realism' around the angle.

I have Batista's and HBK's as I mentioned, both five star releases. I had Brian Pillman's too but my friend I never see any more has it... I have his Marine [John Cena film]

Bret Hart's, Austin's, Taker's, Flair's first set. All sublime DVD packages.

Lucien wrote:I much preferred the cameras used back in the mid nineties. [That can go for movies too sometimes] They used a different format in some sense, because the picture quality looks warmer, and the audio is rougher too. It reminds me of the saying music sounds better on vinyl than CD.

Nowadays everything seems much cleaner and more clinical. These old matches I'm watching feel more like wrestling... probably because I was brought up with it this way.

Agreed. I've been watching some more late 98/early 99 Raw shows on Youtube recently and I absolutely love the 'gritty' look to the shows. Everything now is a bit too X Factor/American Idol for my liking. Admittedly its the stage designs and graphics as much as the cameras but still.

Oh and get the Eddie Guerrero 3 disc set. Just outstanding.

You know what I found hidden away in my house today...a "I like it Raw" T-Shirt. :fp:

If I remember it came out to coincide with the WWF's innuendo laden intro for Raw. Has to be around 1995. Ah, memories...

For the GRAPL Champion, you don't know much do you?

Punk beat Rey at Extreme Rules.

Don't roll your eyes at me you fallen champion, I'm aware that Punk beat Rey in that match but what i meant to write was when is Punk going to actually beat Rey when it matters. Fair enough i didn't write this, but rolling your eyes at someone is the kind of thing that a poor pathetic excuse of a former champion would do.

No hard feelings Zellery, i don't hate you like most people on here, in fact i actually like and agree with most of your comments but you've pissed me off!!!

NB i'm not being serious, or am i

Virgin Megastores was the place to go in the 90s. Along with Clintons, they used to sell all sorts of wrestling related merc.

I've got a fantastic WWF emblazoned frosted glass beer tankard. It's pretty damn heavy. The WWE just don't make this sort of stuff any more - it's all tacky shite these days. What's the current equivalent?

I mean who on earth buys this rubbish?
