Well from my point of view, I look at how many of his past employees have died a premature death. There has been accusation for years that at one stage he was actively encouraging his stars to take substances to beef themselves up.
I'm not sure myself how much of that is true. As I say, I look at how many people who were employed by him are now dead and come to my own conclusions. I think The Wrestler was pretty good on that score.
There's also the fact that the WWE would have themselves distanced from the Indie scene/any other wrestling scene, and act as if "Well, that doesn't go on here'. In reality, it's impossible to separate the two - the WWE is dependent on new stars coming through, and dependent on hardcore wrestling fans.
This is what gets to me the most about the 'E's attitude - the very idea that they're above the competition.
