*Sigh* .... Im sitting here tonight wondering if the time has truly come that wrestling has passed me by. I genuinely get such little enjoyment from watching it now. The only thing I like about wrestling now are the podcasts for their piss taking if how gooseberry fool the programmes are.

TNA - awful ... just awful. I don't even know where to beging with criticizing it.

WWE - My favourite wrestlers are supposed to be the ones I hate. That's not me trying to be cool, its just the way it is.

2 months ago if I knew I would be saying that R-Truth was my favourite thing in wrestling right now I know for a fact I would have given up on it all.

Well there's your problem, you're not even watching wrestling - you're watching sports entertainment with 20 seconds of wreslting and a car crash.

You can't complain about not enjoying wrestling when you watch the lowest point of what is believed to be wrestling; it's like being a football fan then only ever watching England - of course you'll hate it, watch a better strawberry floating team

I don't think that's an option for Jim. Like me I assume he only really likes sports entertainment and not just pure wrestling. I like the mix that WWE and tna traditionally offer but right now both are shite.

Golden Age of Wrestling™

Tuned in briefly to Slammiversary to see the Crimson/joe match. Total agreement about the ring setup, thinking it for ages now, it's like you're watching the same show, not a PPV. Change the colour of the ropes and turn-buckles atleast

They need to get out of the 'impact zone'. Do people pay money to go to a show? It amazes me how static and silent people are. It's either the same people that come each couple of weeks or they arn't particular wrestling fans. Not even the fans care

As for Winter, what other names has she had as a wrestler? She's lovely and has a great accent.

Winter also went by the name Nikita in the first iteration of FWA.

Nope, completely free.

On IMPACT WRESTLING, they've started using canned boos & cheers (which is incredibly obvious & distracting). It's worse than anything on SmackDown (which also does the same thing, but more subtly inserted).

I think the product has got so bad now, even the diehards have given up outside of the odd predictable "this is awesome" chant.

They don't charge at all? not even something like $10? Wow i knew Dixie's parent bankrolled the company but i didn't realise that it had hardly any income apart from the tv deal and probably small amounts of merchandise and ppv revenue.

Yeah, it's free for people who go to Universal Studios. One of my friends (who works at Universal) got a front row seat to it a while back.

I wonder how much they make from the tours, as I don't think I've ever been to one that's sold out before.

Both the PPVs & Impact Tapings are non-ticketed events, so you simply show up. If you notice, the crowd in the seating right of the hard camera gets progressively more empty as the tapings go on - most likely as visitors already in the park pop in, then leave.

TNA is basically an indie promotion paying a fortune to WCW talent & nobody else. Jesse Neal is on food stamps, FFS. I don't even know how low your wages have to be to qualify for something like that. TNA should be ashamed of themselves.

It really is disgusting that someone like Jesse Neal and the Knockouts are on food stamps.

The PPV's should always be outside the Impact Zone, it makes them look so low budget and just like an episode of Impact, plus the TNA fans in an arena always seem more hardcore which is better.

TNA :x

TNA would probably say that they should get a part time job as they only work for TNA once every two weeks and then ppvs or tours thrown in. I think i've got that right if they still record two shows one week then another 2 a fortnight later. But from the wrestlers point of view, they must have to commit a lot of their spare time to training and keeping in shape.

I don't really follow the behind the scenes stuff much now but that Jesse Neal food stamps story is disgusting. I wouldn't be a big fan of his but he deserves better than that.

They could man the hotdog stands around Universal Studios. Win/Win situation.

They do have house shows, but attendance there is really bad at the moment in the US - usually about 1000 fans at rock bottom prices. Don West does the hard sell on merchandise, which apparently does quite well.

Bryan Alvarez was texted during the show by a WWE employee stating that the reason Zack Ryder was not on the show is because "Vince hates the internet". Backstage, many, many people were upset that the person getting the most chants throughout the night was not brought out for a promo or even a quick appearance in his hometown who clearly wanted him there. Dave Meltzer got some more information today on the thought process.

Evidently, it was indeed a rib/joke being played on Zack. Zack had spent his prior show talking up how he was in his hometown, how excited he was, how this could be his chance to finally shine and move up on the card. Zack was told a few days ago he would have a promo and a match on RAW and would turn face on RAW, even being able to acknowledge his youtube show and Internet Champion gimmick. This is why Zack was so excited the past few days.

The rib went so far as there was even a fake script and timeline alloted for Zack to come out and wrestle, besides Superstars, with his RAW promo and on air face turn. When the time came close for this to happen, Zack was informed plans changed and he would not be on air. This was literally during the broadcast. The entire rib was Vince's idea and was because Vince is not a fan of the "bashing" Zack does about WWE and sees it as "giving in" to someone who is visibly bashing the company with "dropping the ball" clips, etc.

Alvarez comments that the real joke is on the fans, as the reaction to him not being on air is not pretty and as the rib is being revealed, even less people are happy. Multiple wrestlers have stated their public displeasure with the rib and John Cena was said to directly confront Vince over the situation and what he felt was a poor joke.

Pathetic :fp:

Appalling way to treat an employee. Vince needs his strawberry floating head sorted. Or kicked in.

It's so WCW it's not even true. It's like Eric Bischoff used to do "ribbing the boys". And in the end the only people they hurt were themselves, & was another factor in killing the company.

TNA may be epically useless, but the WWE isn't much better. Nobody is over in that company either.
