Matt Striker said the World Title hadn't changed hands in Atlanta since 1911 (or something stupid like that), seemingly forgetting Goldberg Vs Hogan in 1998. Striker is so full of gooseberry fool it's unbelievable. I can't stand him.

If he's not making up facts on a weekly basis, he's talking about the most inane things. "This chair is made of a hardened metal that's had 22 coats of paint" or some such bullshit.

Indeed ... we are like a tag that have underlying beef with one another motherfuker.
*can't think of a good example

Like The Rock and Sock, I'm The Rock, a main eventer aiming high, while you lumber around in the background like Mankind, spelling words wrong and eating chocolate.

Didn't see the Rumble, did Edge come back as a heel or face or couldn't you really tell?

He got a face pop, I think. But you wouldn't know in terms of what he did because he rumble-ised everyone.

It's open either way about Edge but Him and Cena being the final 2 could be telling I still think he'll be face though

Watching the end of the rumble. Who's that other commentator, Matt Striker? He goes - "You can tell edge came back from his injury too soon, he just doesn't have the same figure that the rest of the superstars do."

King butts in - "What...Whu...What are you talking about?"

Aye, I called that last night.

That's it, Matt, strawberry floatin' bury the guy who's making his long-awaited comeback and is about to win the Rumble :fp:

On another note, I don't like advertisements for other shows during a PPV. It feels cheap, as if you're admitting that what you're watching isn't gripping enough so you'll edge in another angle to try and ensure fans tune in the next night/month.
I'll make an exception for Mania previews as those can usually be tied to storylines or as part of an ambition....but No Way Out? RAW?

Former NWA World Heavyweight champion and WWE Hall of Famer Jack Brisco has passed away this morning, he was 68. There aren't many details as of now, but Brisco did undergo a triple heart bypass several weeks ago and he was in a rehab center to recover. Briscoe was a former NWA Champion, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame with brother Gerry in 2008.

PWinsider.com wrote:Former WWE Tag Team Champion Joey Mercury is set to return to the WWE.

The plan is for him to return to the SmackDown! brand, where his former tag team partner John Morrison currently wrestles. Mercury teamed with Morrison (then Johnny Nitro) and were managed by Melina, and found great success as a tag team.

Mercury was released in March of 2007, and worked on the independent scene for a while, but then retired in 2008, reportedly due to injuries.

Morrison is better than this bloke, so lets hope they don't reboot MNM.

I strawberry floating love Matt Striker. His awesome "curry favour" joke when Khali came out was amazing.

Rumble thoughts:

1. strawberry floating Facebook. :fp: Having not seen the show live, one of the very small number of my FRB mates who watches wrestling having his status update as lyrics from Edge's theme = FFS. I'd managed to avoid spoliers from everywhere else until that point whilst looking for a link.

2. Big Zeke v Christian was actually really good. Obviously everybody knows how good a worker Captain Charisma is, but Jackson looked really really good here in his first big match. Thumbs up.

3. The finish to Miz-MVP was brilliant. What the hell was the point of having that match without promoting it though?

4. The post match Orton-Legacy angle was all kinds of weird. The Legacy break-up ending up with Orton as the babyface? Eh?

5. Rey Mysterio dressed up in Leeds colours = me not wanting to see him get killed as much as usual.

6. The Rumble match was strawberry floating great fun. I demand we get more CM Punk promo time during matches, he's amazing.

Some small news items...

Figure4Weekly wrote:Shawn Michaels isn't too enamoured with the CM Punk "personal savior" character.

Figure4Weekly wrote:Kevin Nash and April Hunter, a fitness model turned wrestler, shot a sex scene this week for an upcoming indy film called Ultimate Death Match III. That should be something else. April said he was a complete professional. Guess that means he didn't go into business for himself. Abyss, Shane Douglas, Tommy Dreamer, Al Snow and others are also involved.

Christ...

Figure4Weekly wrote:The Guest Host concept was originally going to go until WrestleMania and at that point they'd evaluate whether to keep it going or drop it. I'm not sure if the plan was to bring Flair back as the permanent guest host at this point, but I do know that after he signed with TNA the company was leaning towards keeping the concept going post-Mania. There also is the feeling that it might be valuable to continue it if iMPACT! goes live, because then if there are weeks where TNA promises something big WWE can counter with a major name guest host as opposed to giving away a major match for free.

Figure4Weekly wrote:Don't be shocked to see the Raw the night after WrestleMania be a three-hour show.

Summary of the 'State of TNA Address' on Bubba's radio show last week...

  • Regarding rumours of Honky Tonk Man going to TNA, Eric Bischoff completely buried him & remarked he'd "Rather have a rusty ice pick through the thigh" & that he couldn't even draw flies.
  • Despite the Wrestling Observer report of TNA going Live every Monday in March, Bischoff claimed it was news to him. Hogan chimed in & said he wanted to go Live starting from March 1st.
  • Hogan said he'd love to have Randy Savage come & work with TNA once he'd dyed his "Father Christmas beard" black.
  • Vince Russo writes all the TV, & Eric Bischoff then goes over it & "fixes the bullshit."
  • When asked about Russo's upcoming book, Hogan replied "Who the strawberry float is going to read that?"
  • Hulk said that Lacey Von Erich had no idea how to work and he couldn't fathom why she is still with the company. Eric said she had "great character" & that they'd teach her how to wrestle.
  • Bischoff said the Montreal incident on iMPACT! was basically done to take a shot at Vince McMahon, but was also part one of a longer storyline.
  • Both said they love The Pope. Hogan said he was sick of seeing the guy lose. YOU'RE BOOKING THE SHOW DIPSHIT.
  • Hogan said Abyss was his favourite wrestler of all and the next John Cena.
  • The Hulk Hogan Australian tour won't be put on DVD.
  • Bischoff said he knew that WCW was in trouble in 1998 because the AOL/Time Warner merger came about. It didn't actually happen till 2 years later...

Nope, nothing in here yet.

Watching iMPACT!, I noticed Taz took a minor shot at the WWE at the end of the Nasty Boys/Team 3-D interview seg. He said Turning Point was going to be a "St. Valentine's Day Massacre"
