WWE RAW Ratings Breakdown 10th September 2012

Show did a 2.9 rating & 4,136,000 viewers.

Quarter 2: Lost 426,000 viewers (Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. The Miz & Antonio Cesaro)
Q3: Gained 403,000 (Sheamus & David Otunga deposition)
Q4: Lost 145,000 viewers (Eve Torres, Kaitlyn & Layla vs. Beth Phoenix, Natalya & Alicia Fox)
Q5: Gained 555,000 viewers (C.M. Punk vs. Randy Orton)
Q6: Gained 7,000 viewers (Punk & Dolph Ziggler vs. Randy Orton & Jerry Lawler)
Q7: Lost 247,000 viewers (Kane & Daniel Bryan backstage with Dr. Shelby; Heath Slater vs. Ryback)
Q8: Gained 164,000 viewers (Kane & Daniel Bryan vs. Titus O’Neil & Darren Young)
Q9: Gained 38,000 viewers (Alberto Del Rio vs. Tyson Kidd; Sheamus vs. David Otunga)
Q10: Lost 342,000 viewers (Booker T and A.J. Lee coming out to confront Sheamus; Michael Cole providing a second update on Jerry Lawler)
Q11: Gained 33,000 viewers (Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes)
Q12/Over-run: Gained 407,000 viewers (Hart, Cena and Punk in ring confrontation; final update on Jerry Lawler) to close on a 3.1.

What happened to Lawler made no discernible difference to the ratings pattern on the show, either with people tuning in or tuning out. Q10 is usually a big loser most weeks. Twitter blowing up meant absolutely nothing to ratings, but then we know this already. The greatly increased competition made minimal differences either.

Silvervision only has it down for an October release, nothing more specific sadly.

Challenge are utter shite. Why is No Surrender scheduled from 10-2 on a weeknight 3 days after the event actually happened? The sooner I get some proper internet sorted the better.

Don't know why they haven't scheduled PPV events for 9pm. Coupled with the commercials, while completely understandable, it's basically begging people to use a PVR. Challenge also have the disadvantage of not being in HD.

It's interesting to note that these PPV shows, which you'd think would garner the biggest audience (like they do for Sky Sports), are considerably down in comparison to IMPACT. Hardcore Justice was roughly 110,000 viewers less than IMPACT. Poor choice of night, coupled with no repeat.

Yeah, you'd think they'd maybe put it on at 9 at the latest.

Joe/Hardy was a decent match!

Graphics are rather reminiscent of Saturday Night's Main Event.

On the basis of this ad, it's going to be a star-studded show, at least at first. Looks like WWE may have finally learnt that these 'C' shows don't work. But Christ they're stretching this roster to breaking point...

What's the point of the show again? I can't remember, is it just a third show in the mould of raw and sd or is it something different?

That's great news, just so glad he's doing ok. I really was prepared for the worst on Monday night.

Thought the Punk/Cena/Bret promo at the end of Raw was fantastic. Until they had Punk play the typical cowardly heel. It was shaping up nicely, wanting to see two guys have a fight and then they have Punk pull the generic heel act and run away. I really thought they would do something interesting with his character.

Basically another hour of pro-wrestling from an arena (most likely replacing Superstars tapings, which currently airs exclusively on .com and internationally). If the advert is true, coupled with the use of the 'main event' moniker, it looks like it'll be a proper show rather than a Velocity/Shotgun/Superstars type job.

Some of the attendance for SmackDown has been atrocious (the building for last week was entirely empty on the upper deck, to the point you couldn't not notice it on TV) so adding this would certainly help in making that show worthwhile from a fans perspective.
