WWE SmackDown Tapings

The show opened with Team RAW and Team SmackDown! in the ring. Teddy Long is going to let the teams pick the matches. Miz chooses himself, Ezekiel Jackson and Sheamus vs. Big Show, Kofi Kingston & Rey Mysterio. Edge chooses CM Punk, John Morrison Alberto Del Rio & Jack Swagger Santino Marella.

Big Show, Kofi and Mysterio defeated The Miz, Sheamus and Jackson. Big Show chokeslammed Miz and Rey splashed him for the win.

Jack Swagger defeated Santino Marella. Hornswoggle came out and got into it with Swagger’s mascot. Santino attacked the eagle but Swagger won with the ankle lock.

Alberto Del Rio defeated John Morrison.

LayCool came out and Layla was dressed like Natalya but with Jim Neidhart’s beard. Michelle McCool was dressed as Bret Hart.

Natalya and Kelly Kelly beat LayCool in tag team action. Natalya used the Sharpshooter.

Randy Orton defeated Kane in a Champion vs. Champion match. Kane dominated most of the match. The ending was Kane going for a chokeslam, but the bell tolled and the lights went out. When the lights went up, there was no Undertaker, but Orton used the distraction to nail Kane with an RKO for the pin.

After the match, Kane was freaking out outside and then the bell was heard again. Kane went back in the ring and Taker came out from under the ring canvas. Undertaker pulled Kane inside the hole. They got out before brawling around ringside. Kane escaped. Taker posed and then threw the World Title belt in the hole in the ring.

I think many long time fans will remember the final angle, as it's been used so many times already, & not just by the Undertaker.

I still can't believe they're just giving away a Champion vs Champion match with no build. And we'll have seen the two teams face off so many times, who on earth is going to watch them fight each other again on Sunday - especially for a trophy that was forgotten about last year in about 2 weeks.

If nothing else there should be some good wrestling on the show Friday, though.

I really hate this about the WWE of late. You see variations of the PPV's main-event for weeks before what should be the big showdown. I've lost count of the times we've seen two rivals being forced to join forces in a tag-team match. It's the same thing over and over again, and they wonder why no-one bothers ordering their PPV's anymore.

Torrie Wilson, 35, has shut down the clothing store, “Jaded,” that she and boyfriend Nick Mitchell (Mitch of the Spirit Squad) were working on. She said she is moving from Houston to Los Angeles, likely to once again try and make a go of it in Hollywood

The current direction of the major storyline in TNA is that Eric Bischoff can do the angle he envisioned in 2001 when he was going to take over WCW and never got to finish because his group couldn’t land a TV outlet to keep the company alive when Jamie Kellner made the call to cancel wrestling throughout the entire Turner/WB family. Bischoff started it by doing angles and stip matches that would pull the key babyfaces off television and build up steam on the heels. Then the big name faces finally come back which is the point he expected the business to start coming back. Angle is for sure coming back. Sting’s contract is up at the end of the year but they’ve got plans for him to come back and want him for another year. I don’t know what the story is with Kevin Nash, whose contract was up on 10/12, and is telling people he’s done. Nash was telling friends this past week that he’s done, that he was fed up with certain people running the place, and publicly claimed it was over what he was offered for a new deal.

One person in TNA noted, “Don’t you love it how Eric Bischoff says he has nothing to do with creative when numbers are down or the show sucks, but is the first one to congratulate himself on twitter/facebook when Impact or Reaction does a good number?....He’s not going anywhere, but Dixie is on to him and enough people have complained that he has lost a lot of his clout.” Unlike Hogan, who is well-liked, and Russo, who people roll their eyes when talking about his booking but don’t personally dislike him, you get a lot of negative on Bischoff, more because of how he carries himself and relates to talent than for his actual decisions.

Angle is going on a vacation to Thailand since he’s got time off.

There are plans to bring back Desmond Wolfe shortly. During his time off, he's been doing some stand-up comedy at open mic spots in the Tampa/Orlando area. This led to rumors he was going to retire and become a stand-up comedian, but he has no plans of retiring right now.

After the 'success' of “Legendary,” the movie “Knucklehead,” which unlike "Legendary" looks really bad based on the trailers, will only be opening in about 6 theaters and only for two nights, October 23rd and October 24th, before it’s rushed to video.

Right now, the WWE “feels comfortable” that the Cena/Nexus angle can continue at least through to the Royal Rumble.

This one is so dependant on ratings, imo. And of course how well it's booked, so people don' lose interest. So far it's been pretty good. Nexus are completely hopeless, but at least it should make a guaranteed star out of Wade Barrett if nothing else.

There was at least talk coming out of Raw that they may have stumbled into something for Bryan, and follow up with a portrayal of him as sort of geeky guy who all the women find attractive. Plus, it allows Michael Cole to go crazy with hot women fawning on him.

Love it. Midcarder for life, but in a "sexual chocolate" kinda way it'll probably be highly amusing.
