You think it's going to Shane? When Vince dies, I think Stephanie & Triple H will be firmly in charge. For about 12 months, before the company dies altogether.

I'm saying that's what they should do, not what they will do.

Christian's return :fp: Out of all the possible scenarios, they decide to have him return unnannounced on ECW.

Unbelievable.

It was one of the worst ever returns I've ever seen, reasons??:

a) Christian being a former TNA World Champ may be the key, Vince did not want a TNA star suddenly coming big in WWE.
b) Kind of the above, but Vince has said, if you can carry the ECW brand, we'll go from there, I want to be impressed.
c) It's an underlying motive, Christian will be off ECW soon, until something bigger is ready.

My first opinion from above still stands, Christian was offered the chance to be the main babyface of TNA apparently, now he chose to reject this and sign with WWE, which granted he wanted to any way, but I cannot see him really signing a deal with WWE that offered him ECW only, nothing else. It does'nt make sense.

strawberry float sake. I've been looking forward to Christian's return for ages and they put him on bloody ECW.

I never expected him to come right back into the main event scene but they should have at least put him on one of the two main shows rather than the one hardly anyone (me included) watches.

Up there with the Invasion, the rebirth of ECW & 'the handshake' on the list headed "Not Vince's Finest Hour"

WTF? i haven't had a chance to watch ECW on the net yet, will have to have a look. Haven't watched ecw in months. What a waste of talent and potential storylines. It does make me wonder if they orginally planned to use Christian in the jeff hardy angle but changed their minds and went with Matt turning on Jeff. This would have left them with a spot on ECW to fill. I take it Christian has returned as a face?

Also i hate Priceless remixed music, it's awful, the old one was gold.

The Mania Card is tentatively pencilled in to look like this according to PWTorch & Observer:

Triple H Vs Edge for the WWE Championship
John Cena Vs Randy Orton for the World Championship
Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels
Matt Hardy Vs Jeff Hardy
Ric Flair &/or Mickey Rourke Vs Chris Jericho &/or TBA.

Last week it was supposed to be Shane/Austin against Legacy.

Wow, Hunter and Cena in the Championship matches. How predictable.

*sigh*

Ok i've just watched ECW. My thoughts are that Christian is there to stay for a few months at least. He will probably get the title at Mania and carry ECW until the next draft before going to SD or RAW. I don't think he will be involved in any Edge or Hardy fued of any kind. Also seeing him next to Jack Swagger makes u realise how thin Christian actually is. He looks annorexic as a wrestler.

On a positive note though, i think he got a good reaction, showed that a good chunk of the audience knew who he was. The crowd also seemed into his match and promo at the start. Will more people watch ECW as a result?

The commentators should be shot. It was like "Who let that strawberry floater back in?"

If Vince was hard on Cole and Foley - I gear for these two

Thats if Vince bothers watching/overseeing ECW .... Nothing needs more saying other than Christian's return was poorly executed. I like the idea as having ECW as a grounding place for guys to learn their trade. People like Swagger and that Tyson dude will do better for having spent time working TV matches with people like Finlay, Dreamer etc ... but to have Christian on that show ... let alone his return was just purely Vince sticking two fingers up at TNA ... then again who would have put it past his ego!

EDIT: I think your being too harsh on S&G with their commentating

a) They generally call matches quite well ... Striker at time does have some reasonably good lines
b) They should never have been put in the position to have to 'big up' Christians return

I'm not sure if the WWE have done this on purpose or not, but they've half included a lot of matches from the diabolical 91-93 era of WCW on the Starrcade DVD. I mean seriously, the Battlebowl? :fp:

You really have to question why so much of the Bischoff era is missing...

NWA is represented fantastically well, though.

DVD News:

The Observer wrote:As reported last week, World Wrestling Entertainment has plans to release a three-disc DVD set on "Macho Man" Randy Savage on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 entitled Macho Madness: The Ultimate Randy Savage Collection. As expected, several fans are skeptical of WWE releasing a DVD on Savage considering Vince McMahon pulled the plug on the project once before, but the company is legitimately going through with the release. Internally, the feeling is with the state of the economy that this isn't the time to kill projects they believe will make significant money, especially for petty reasons such as McMahon's personal feelings towards Savage. In other sign indicating the company's change of heart towards Savage, he is featured on the cover of the Best of Saturday Night’s Main Event DVD released this week.

And in other news: Hell freezes over.
