I always really enjoy watching him in interviews etc. He's really funny and comes across as a cool guy. Just a shame his TV character has never seemed to click with me.

Also, I think that's geniunly the first time I've ever cared to take note of what his finishing move is called.

Watching the 2005 Rumble. Definitely one of my favourites, watching Eddie and Benoit start it is weird of course :?

The Miz is the best PR person they have. If you see him in interviews at E3 or other events he outshines the others.

PWinsider.com wrote:Mark Henry is believed to have suffered a hyper-extended knee at this past Tuesday's SmackDown taping. The injury looks to have happened when Henry was throwing a punch and his knee moved forward before he had completely planted his foot during a move. The footage will air on Smackdown tonight, but the finish had to be changed due to the injury. Word is that the original plan was for Daniel Bryan to attack Big Show with a chair after Show had Henry down, with Show making the comeback and chokelsamming Bryan. Following that, Henry would have given Bryan the big splash, leaving Bryan laid out and leaving doubt in the minds of the fans that Bryan might not retain Sunday. Henry has been working hurt for sometime, with a groin injury, and is at this time, expected to work the Rumble.

One of my favs this one. Think of the best Rumbles (2001 & 1992) and they don't establish new main eventers, which is what made this so great. It also had a load of great spots...

- Eddie, Benoit & Holly beat and chop the hell out of Daniel Puder

- Smackdown Vs Raw showdown (Benoit, Edge, Chris Jericho & Benjamin Vs Rey, Eddie, Booker & err Luther Reigns) Crowd loved it.

- Muhammad Hassan comes out, differences are quickly put aside to get rid of the EVIL FOREIGN MENACE™ Hassan then takes out Scotty 2 Hotty :(

- Rene Dupree and the poodle Fifi :fp:  come out followed by a mini World's Greatest Tag Team reunion

- Simon Dean (   ) arrives and warms up outside the ring before being eliminated straight away by HBK

- Angle dominates briefly until HBK sends him crashing. Angle comes back and takes HBK out, then beats him til he's bloody outside the ring. Setting up that amazing WM match of course.

- Gene Snitsky murders Paul London with a clothes line off the apron. London basically does a 360 splash to sell it. He's stretchered out in the end but it probably wasn't Snitsky's fault.

- Crowd went nuts for Batsita but he was still a tweener at the time. The tease Batista turning on Evolution with Flair trying to put Batista over the top but failing hilariously.

- Cena, Edge, Rey and Batsita in the final four. None of these guys were main eventers at the time remember, how often do you see that in a Rumble?

- The ending of course was great and not just for Vince blowing both his knees out  Brilliant way of getting them both over and didnt seem a blatant copy of 94

You don't really appreciate at the time just how great some of these midcarders like Simon Dean & Rob Conway were until you look at the current product, & see how much wrestlers like these are missing. Brodus Clay has quickly become the 2012 version of someone like Disco Inferno or Flash Funk, & a real highlight of WWE TV every week, because we haven't had anything like this in ages.

I think it's about time they brought back "the character". Whether it be Val Venis the porn star, Simon Dean a fitness instructor, or Jeff Jarrett (along with Tennessee Lee) the Country singer...gimmick good or bad, they had something that made them interesting. A character, a personality, a gimmick. And it's something that has vanished almost completely in recent years. Even Jerry Lawler, who now bears only passing glimpses of the personality he displayed for decades.

Look at someone like David Otunga. He was completely useless before, but at least now he's become a 'Legal Advisor'. It's something. And something is better than absolutely nothing. Who's Kofi Kingston? He's a man that goes "Boom, boom, boom". Yeah, that's something I can really invest in...

I loved Simon Dean's gimmick. One of the few people to come over from old ECW and not be strawberry floated up by creative.

Totally agree with KK, the lack of gimmicks in the recent era has actually made the use of gimmicks seem really fresh/interesting again. I do hope they introduce a few more and repackage some of the more generic wrestlers on the roster.

And considering the gimmick he got and the non-existent push that's saying quite something!
