Our spies say the wrestling wizard’s peeps forwarded a detailed set of instructions on how to handle Vince during his stay at the Boston Park Plaza hotel.
First off, “all of Vince McMahon’s charges go to the master bill,” the info sheet states. And those charges would include “a special room-service order upon (McMahon’s) arrival between 11:45 p.m. and midnight . . . WWE will pay the chef to stay late.”
We like how you roll, Vince!
All of the WWE rooms, BTW, had to be non-smoking and “all rooms traveling with Vince McMahon should be pre-keyed.” Because, really, who wants to wait at the check-in desk???
And speaking of the ring kings, the WWE threw its “Decade of Smackdown” afterparty at The Kowloon, following the sold-out TD Garden show.
More than 70 wrestlers and their posses turned out for the time, including WWE U.S. Champ - and ex- Winchester High wrestling wonder - Kofi Kingston, who arrived with his high school wrestling coach Larry Tremblay .
Also scarfing lobsters in ginger, Kowloon steak, sushi, and pu pu platters were World Heavyweight Champ CM Punk and fellow wrestlers Chris Jericho, Batista, Randy Orton, “World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry, Matt Hardy, Hornswoggle, Cryme Tyme Shad, The Hart Dynasty, Dolph Ziggler, Santino Morella, “Asian Cowboy” Jimmy Wang Yang, R-Truth, WWE Divas Maria, Eve, Kelly Kelly, Natalya, Melina, Rosa, Katie Lea, The Bella Sisters - and many, many more.
As noted earlier, Matt Hardy posted on his Twitter account (
http://twitter.com/matthardybrand) late last night that he was tired of "being punished because of someone else's sins." Hence, many speculated that his cryptic message was referring to Hardy not appearing on television sans a WWE Superstars bout since the arrest of his brother Jeff on numerous drug charges on September 11th. Hardy wrote a blog on his MySpace page today saying he was referring to leaving a tip on a large meal that was comped by a restaurant last night as he felt the current tip was not sizable enough. Hardy also said he made a bet with a few of his closest WWE friends that the wrestling media would pick up the message and run it as something completely different. Hardy wrote: "Last night, since almost every WWE personality was in Boston for The Decade Of Smackdown show, we all went out to eat after the show last night. A hug tab ended up being comped, which was very cool. Everyone was gonna leave generous tips because the meal was free obviously, and we wanted to take great care of our servers. I was one of the last ones to leave, and was figuring up the tip. The tip wasn't as good as I would have liked it to have been from a couple of the guys. So I left a large tip at the end, extremely big. I joked and said it was a sin I had to pay for other people's mistakes and cheapness. I told a couple of my closest WWE friends that if I posted a tweet rephrasing the situation as "I am exhausted from being punished because of someone else's sins", that the wrestling media would pick that comment up and run with it as something completely different. Low and behold, almost every site did. Not surprising, it's what I suspected. Just another example of how they're looking for any comment they can to translate however into hits for their site and reader views. So take it from me, don't believe everything you read-fact is rarely separated from fiction when it comes to any branch of the "media entertainment market."
