All things considered, why wouldn't it make sense for Jericho to build up to a potential victory, only for Sheamus to win? Why wouldn't it make sense for them to air Jericho promos only to have Sheamus go over in an impactful way? Jericho doesn't know for sure he's going to win. Given that Vince and the other creative directors supposedly don't know any more about what's going to happen or who's going to win than we do, it makes no sense to expect them to air promos based on the winner of the Rumble, before it's happened.
Perhaps I missed the part where Jericho's character became psychic? Because otherwise, I can see nothing wrong with him predicting big things for himself at the Rumble ("the end of the world"), only to fail at the hands of the Great White.
Yes, but this is professional wrestling. I was brought up with wrestling that, when you implied or promised something big was going to happen if you watched this Pay Per View, then something big was going to happen at the Pay Per View.
Jericho losing however isn't really the sole problem here - it's apart of a bigger issue that from the moment these videos aired with Chris Jericho, the whole thing's been schizophrenic. It's like the CM Punk & Triple H nonsense from last year. Nothing leads to anything, or goes anywhere. It's like watching Eastenders without any of the payoff.
'Heh, I thought Pat had dementia last week? Oh no, that angle's been dropped. She's now taken up Buddhism commencing from Tuedsay's episode.'It's typical WWE. The questions just add up week after week & we never get any answers. Will the meaning of the videos be revealed? What does 'end of the world' mean? Why did he walk out of the tag team match? Why has he been mute for the last 3 weeks, but then suddenly spoke last Monday? Why was his character in the Rumble at odds with the past month?
Why is Drew McIntyre still here? Why is Triple H, who was removed as general manager of RAW, deciding whether his replacement is up to the job at the bequest of The Board who originally removed him for incompetence in the first place?
