The WWF had a Women's Tag Team Championship in the 80's.

WCW had a Women's Cruiserweight Championship funnily enough, which if memory serves correctly was only ever defended once on Nitro (one week before Spring Stampede 1997).

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has been teasing in his web blogs about making a major announcement over the next week.

If Jim Ross retires & Lawler leaves to have another go at becoming Mayor, then not only do the WWE have no decent wrestlers, they don't have any decent commentators either. I wouldn't blame Ross, though. He sounds bored out of his skull half the time.

Jim Ross has updated his blog over at JRsBarBQ.com. Below are some highlights:

"I mentioned I was going to have a 'surprise' at Summerslam and the answer is that it's my guest shot on the Food Network that will be taped early Sunday morning. Some of my peers thought I was going to announce that I was leaving WWE when my contract expires later this year. Sorry to disappoint them, that was a joke BTW, but I'm still not at that bridge yet and those types of decisions will be made later in the year in a professional manner."

"Let me make it clear that I doubt that I ever fully 'retire' from the work force and that I will always be involved in something whether it be continuing to build our J.R.'s Family BBQ Brand or doing other projects of which I have an interest. I enjoy working and staying busy and there are many things that I am excited about exploring as time goes on. Would I like to slow down a little and not travel every week? You bet...if it could be arranged but, again, time will tell and it certainly isn't something that has me concerned."

Zellery hasn't posted for weeks. This is a chance for one of us blue chippers to grab the spotlight.

I'm the Carlito of this place, so much ability, but so damn lazy I'm still stuck down the bottom of the card.

KKLEIN wrote:Don't know how well this is going to go down with management, but Chris Jericho has admitted to The Baltimore Sun that "the WWE is in crisis".

We're in a crisis period in WWE and we need to build new guys. When Shawn Michaels came back to Raw, he said, 'Whose been built since I left?' On Smackdown we've built [John] Morrison and [Dolph] Ziggler and Cryme Tyme. The Intercontinental title has been rebuilt now with Rey Mysterio. But I can't tell you on Raw who has been built over the last six months. They better do it soon, because when this generation of performers is gone, who will replace them?

Though I agree with his overall point, I can't concur with any of his choices in regards to SD. John Morrison & Dolph Ziggler have strong potential (especially the former), but they're currently no more than good wrestlers. Morrison on the microphone is currently an embarrassment. Neither are in any position to carry SD, & Cryme Tyme will never be main eventers.

I think he's a bit confused with what he means, in terms of a push, then fair enough he's correct in that aspect. But when he left, Rey was already a built star. Bar John Cena and Randy Orton who came just after the attitude era, he's right, who have they got?

Stars After Attitude Era
- John Cena
- Randy Orton
- Rey Mysterio
- CM Punk? - I dont think he's good enough to carry a show on his own yet.

Stars From Attitude Era
- Undertaker
- Edge
- Jeff Hardy
- Matt Hardy
- Christian
- Y2J
- HBK
- Triple H
- Bigshow and Kane? Unsure whether to class them here.

I personally am hoping that neither Zell or Crop get a prediction in. The point swing would knock Zell off the top spot.

I'll get my predictions in on Sunday afternoon, Rog, I need to catch up on the month's events first.
WWE Summerslam
DX Vs The Legacy
Winners: DX
Loser (means who gets pinned/submitted): Cody
ECW Champion Christian Vs William Regal
Winner: Christian
MVP Vs Jack Swagger
Winner: MVP
Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio Vs Dolph Ziggler
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
Khali Vs Kane
Winner: Khali
Unified Tag Champs Big Show and Jericho Vs Cryme Tyme
Winners: Cryme Tyme
Loser (means who gets pinned/submitted): Show
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk Vs Jeff Hardy (TLC Match)
Winner (worth double): Jeff Hardy
(note- I've a feeling he'll have to vacate the title somehow, which no doubt will mean my luck he'll be "injured" and unable to compete after a while, hence Punk would win :fp:)
Matt Hardy to interfere during the match?
Prediction: Yes
WWE Champion Randy Orton Vs John Cena
Winner (worth double): Orton
Any match you think will end in a DQ (I know this is a bit :? but it might work)
Prediction: Khali vs Kane
I really want to say Jeff will win, despite him leaving for fact apparently after summerslam. Which is stupid in my view, I get he's tired, but hes the biggest face the company has at the moment, and when he returns he's not guaranteed that same spotlight and momentum.

Ginga you don't get a point for no. You have to take a guess at a match likely to end in DQ. Well you don't have to but you'd be better off.

I may change my prediction, as the World Heavyweight Title has just been passed around far too much, Summerslam needs a title change, but I just think it will weaken the title's worth if Punk wins it once more, after what isn't it a month?
