Practically universal hatred online of the main event last night. Just some of the comments, to the Wrestling Observer alone:
Miz and Cena was complete crap. I am beyond over Cena as Superman. Miz said "I quit" several times after the bell which really killed the whole feeling of the match. The double team was a stupid idea (as far as Miz just announcing it at the start of the match). Get rid of Riley already please. This match was a pure waste of time. What did it do other than make Cena look indestructible and impossible to beat? I guess there is no need to watch RAW until Mania season because Cena can't loose.
What an appropriate name for a Pay Per View. It seems like WWE hasn't forgotten who forks out the $45 for the pay per view. There was nothing here for the grown ups. The main event was a joke. All that punishment leads to Cena no selling at the end and making Miz quit during the first attempt? Come on! What was WWE thinking this month? This is the kind of booking that was present towards the end of WCW. It felt like most everything was thrown together at 5 this afternoon. I'll have to think really hard about the next WWE ppv I purchase.
The main event was very strange as well, and really wasn't what people wanted to see, plus seeing Cena no-sell about 25 minutes worth of punishment and make Miz tap like a geek was very depressing.
If this wasn't a one match PPV I don't know what one is.If it wasn't for the Orton-Christian classic this would rival any TNA PPV in terms of pure crap. And I almost made the mistake of buying it. Cena v Miz. Ok, we all know about the SuperCena effect but it went way overboard tonight. He gets beat up and destroyed for 20 minutes and just like that he gets and STF on and Miz quits 3 seconds later? Oh boy. Good match though but a lame ending. 3 stars.
Main Event was a predictable waste of time... Miz came out looking like the biggest pussy ever and Cena is apparently a cartoon character that can recover from a twenty minute beating in 30 seconds.
The main event of this show completely ruined what was an otherwise very good PPV. It was just so far out there to me that I still cannot comprehend that this match was approved by someone in the office. Buddy Wayne said it best according to Bryan - "Now why the strawberry float would you want to do that?"
This is a sad time to be a pro wrestling fan. when I hear from my casual fan friends, there is no way I can defend this match in any way, shape or form. It's becoming harder and harder to watch either company these days. I think when we look back in historical context, this may be known as the worst era ever in the history of professional wrestling, and that covers a heck of a lot of ground.
Cena vs. Miz didn't seem like a great main event to me as it seemed more like a an angle for Raw then a ppv main event. I like Miz, but tired of him vs. Cena now. Let's move on to something else.
Very unusual for almost everyone to be in such agreement of something.
